Davinson Sanchez

Our worst player. Can sometimes defend if played at RCB, but cannot 'play'.
Is less skilful than Sissoko.
Am hoping we upgrade to someone who can both defend and play.

A less skillful player than Sissoko doesn't exist. I have actually seen Sanchez pass the ball over 10 yards with crispness. A rare sight but one that has happened. Sissoko couldn't pass the ball more than 39 cm.

I don't agree. He is not a ball playing defender but he does his job.

Tough crowd. 90% of the time he is a very good CB. It is those moments where he loses confidence, overthinks, or hesitates But he is looking more secure. His passing is actually pretty crisp. He might need to play on loan (or be sold) to play regular games to reinforce confidence in his improved ability. But he is an asset. He has matured.

Think he would be difficult to upgrade as a back up CB personally, and think he has a deserved place in our squad. Was solid in his first season, a bit naff in the next couple, but shown clear improvements and desire since Conte came along. However, whatever Conte wants to do with Sanchez is fine with me

I’m not his biggest fan, thought he was iffy in certain areas of his game even in his first season. However as back up I’m ok with keeping him and rotating him in when his weaknesses won’t be exposed
