The Goon Thread - Officially Second In A One Horse Race

Looks like they will get jesus for £50m. Has nobody told them he's in the last year of his contract?

Guess I'm not surprised. The guy wants first team football because if you're gonna sit on a bench, City's is the best bench to sit on. He would struggle to be an automatic first team player at any of the top 6 bar United and City will hardly sell to them.

Woolwich is a good bet for him if that's what he wants given that I'd have a good shot at starting up front for them with their options.

Until Arsenal get more midfield control, he'll not fare much better than those who've come before him under Arteta imo...all that might change if they also buy a commanding tall and physical striker for all of them to play off..

Either way, i'm happy they are seemingly spinking £50M on him haha

Only issue is he will be getting alot of the ball deeper and with back to goal, we will see how good he actually is.

I remember we played Lyon and Lacazette run as pretty ragged, he looked shot at Arsenal

That could be a problem for them then. I haven't seen much of Jesus and have never been overly impressed with his general play. I can't ever recall watching City and saying "Jesus had a great game today". His goalscoring record is pretty decent though so my impression of him, which may be wrong, is that he is effective in the box but doesn't do much elsewhere.

You would also imagine Arteta knows what he is buying - if it doesn't work out, it's all on Arteta.
