** The Tottenham vs Arsenal NLD Official Match Thread **

We're starting our preparations at 3pm today
Going to be some sore heads and hangovers at work tomorrow for sure
I've cleared my work day in advance

I think we are better BUT there have been plenty of games where we failed to turn up and handed it to them on a plate. But is that just my rancid brain fighting me? I cannot recall.
You must be thinking of games at the Emirates. We tend to get a result against them at home.

Let’s make sure the Goons get some karma. Beating them back when we was due to play them might not have the effect it does now at the business end.

Whatever the result, I’m happy with what Conte and the squad have done this season and already looking forward to the new season more than I have done for a good few years. COYS…..

What I would say is. Although more than disappointing, a draw tonight is not the total end of it. A defeat yes, but should it end a draw is not totally over, providing we win both our games, with our superior GD it would still force Arsenal to have to win one of the last 2. Not a foregone conclusion...totally

That said, obviously, the win is what we all wish for, just saying, a draw tonight and we cannot give up hope altogether.

COYS Revenge for the COVID postponement

I’m predicting an impressive win tonight, followed by a flat draw against Burnley, and then an unexpected loss to Norwich on the last day, to miss out on CL by a point as Arsenal stumble across the line.

Win now guaranteed. Dier header!!!!!

Having gone up for virtually every free kick and corner we have had, please remind me again when he last scored ? His goal output remains the weakest part of his game. It would be great if he rectified that tonight.

Rather like blowing 2nd only needing a point from Soton at Home and Saudi Sportswashing Machine away. Although there is very much the same sort of scenario that I want Arsenal would happen if we draw tonight

arsenal don't need to win, they could get stuck between two stools, hoping to snatch a win bur trying not to lose.
No excuses tonight, its step up or ship out for some of them as far as I am concerned.
Its there if we want it, lets see how much we want.

I am feeling nervous already, only 11 and a half hours to get through!
We need a frenzy of noise in the ground, but cool, calm heads on the pitch.
Please show up Tottenham, we can do this and we can do it well. Send them packing back up the High Road tails between legs, deflated, all hope shattered.
Or I'll take a cagey 1-0 but my nerves will be in absolute shreds.
Whatever happens, North London is Ours.
COYS.

Buzzing for it. Just got to the airport and there’s a good few Spurs fans around here which is a decent effort given it’s a Thursday and they’ll have to stay over and take tomorrow off too. Got back off a work flight from Amsterdam at 10:30 last night but fudged off the last two days of a work conference for this. Boss wasn’t delighted but he’s a rugby fan so doesn’t get it.

It did strike me that if we win the rest of our games and they win their last two, that dropped point against Brighton will be crucial. No point worrying about it though, let’s show up tonight and do them. What happens after that happens.

Got to be the same team as the Dipper game but different tactics. A convincing win tonight could be huge mentally for us and for the impact it’ll have on them but I’ll take anything. Losing just doesn’t bear thinking about.

Couple of the Gooner lads at work are very confident, asked if i was looking forward to getting smashed tonight, i put it on the line and replied “we will see when you are crying tomorrow morning when we do you 4-1.”

Agreed. Think we could see a somewhat cautious approach from both teams at first. Arsenal will obviously take a draw. Us going behind would make things really difficult, so both teams making sure they don't make any mistakes or leave themselves exposed make sense.

Could see us, or even them, try to go for the shock and awe start, but it's rarely been Conte's approach. Think we'll be fairly happy waiting for the right opportunities to break. Should they start pressing high at some point we should play with bravery on the ball though.

Can definitely see this get heated almost regardless of how the game pans out. NLD, so much to play for, loads of frustration that could come out. Some cool heads will be needed.
It's definitely going to get heated. It feels like a while since the NLD had so much riding on it.

This game is made for Cuti Romero. I'm not worried about him getting sent off at all. Like Lamela, he's an intelligent clam who knows exactly what he's doing. Very intelligent, very clamy.

Lamela did get sent off against them though...

There's a risk of that with Romero, but such is life, not worried about that. Though hope he doesn't pick up an early yellow as that would impact how he can play the game.
