So we are currently above vitesse on GD? Ours is +2 better than vitesse.

He got dribbled on a break away and that means it is on him?
You always show the attacker the outside, twice Sanchez didn't and they scored twice. The lad is an enigma, had some very good games and you think he's gonna be great and then performs so poorly in the others that he becomes a liability.

For all the slagging off, let's not forget we were playing with 10 for more than an hour. We showed a lot of fight in the second half and Mura seldom got out of their half. But we really lacked in creativity. In the end a fluke goal by them decided the match. Make what you want of it, but these things happen in football and don't always reflect the reality on the pitch.

For a long time we've had a lot of decent squad players and not enough stand-out starters. Poch was able to elevate players and in that sense he was the perfect manager for Levy. He could take players with promise and help them to play above their level. With him gone we just have a lot of average players. Only Kane, Son and maybe Lloris stand out as quality players who could play for top sides. Few if any others would command a place. The lack of ability in defense and midfield is stark.

The likes of Ndombele, Moura, Hojbjerg, Romero, Royal are good enough when playing in a functioning side. All have strong ability and could play for top sides. But they need to develop and settle. If Conte can get these 8 players plus Dier and one of Sessegnon or Regulion playing well we only need to sign 2-3 more players IMO.

Granted. But let's be honest. It wasn't like we were setting it alight with 11

I’m guessing you’re a glass half-full sort? :D

The reality is that we were beaten by the lowest-ranked team in European group competition this year through a combination of arrogance, stupidity and laziness.

It really is as bad as it seems.

Only saw the last 30 and we were far better than them with 10 men. The goal was the only time they got near us. I was actually impressed with how we played. However, sounds like the first half was an utter brick show and Sanchez for the goal...dear me.

I always thought that it was arrogant to expect we could breeze through this competition.
Don't think it's so much arrogance, more a case of it just being a competition where for once we should be one of the favourites, if only in name.

He was defending in LCB. It is hard for a right footed CB who normally plays RCB to do this. That is what has happened.
