Next Manager?

On that basis, I think Levy might well go for someone who is a more experienced version of Poch when he joined. Not sure who that is, but someone who's managed a bit more in a major league, had some success relative to the expectations of the club which he managed,...perhaps mid-late 40s/early 50s,....

That's fair, but every good manager in world football would be the opposite of this absolute boor we have in charge now, so it was always going to be a drastic shift. Unless we hired Allegri, I dunno.

Maybe. He was also in talks with Milan in January last year, all the way up until July. They wanted him to become their sporting director/manager - they ultimately pulled the plug on that because he was too outspoken about the hiring process for their liking and internal politics meant their CEO Gazidis, who wanted him, was outmaneuvered by their existing sporting directors, Bobic and Maldini, who backed their existing coach Pioli.

He's a bit of a headstrong guy, tbh. But I don' t care about that - nor do I care if he wants a lot of money. We hired the most abrasive loser in the world and gave him 45m over three years to fail spectacularly, continuously and pathetically - might as well bring in someone who's proven they can build for the long haul.

I'm not convinced, you can call Jose a loser if you like, but one CV is much much longer than the others, I just had quick look on wikipedia, 3 domestic cups and an Intertoto.

Well, his CV never had six games as bad as ones he's had now, mate. Fabio Cappello has a fantastic CV but no one's giving him a job - Mourinho has been trading on his CV for too long. He's yesterday's man, washed up, useless, a loser, and David Moyes is better than him atm.

You do know that he won 3 trophies at English clubs whilst Poch was manager here ?
With teams that many said were inferior to ours
That’s not a reason to keep him
But it is a reason as to why we maybe appointed him

I wouldnt go for Allegri. We want someone who we could believe might stay for 5 years. Allegri wouldnt be tempted off by someone else within 2-3 years if he's half successful, just because of the trophies at Juve

Again, I'm not saying it was a mistake to appoint him. It was a justified gamble.

It's clear now that we lost, though. The gamble failed. This fool wanted to be judged on results - he has just lost his 5th out of 6 to David fudging Moyes.

Surprisingly things are not as bad as at the end of his second spell at Chelsea (who had won the league the previous season). Sacked in December 2015 after 16 league games where they went 3-3-10. Our last 16 in the EPL are 5-4-7. Problem is that our last 8 are 2-1-5 and 2 wins are against Sheffield and W. Brom. Not a crisis? He was 7-6-5 at Man Utd when he was sacked and had won something the prior season. He has no credit in the bank with us, unless qualifying for the Europa on the last day of last season counts ..... Who is the specialist in losing now ....

I agree with those on here who feel levy will not sack him at least until the carabao final.
 
Can't we please, please start debating the "regression to mean" thing everyone was so hung up about when we sacked AVB? Please?! :p

It worked at a club that was already winning. He does have one title with Milan but that was in the season directly after Inter's treble and their understanable drop in intensity. Juve hadn't quite recovered their level yet after being promoted. Still an achievement but context is everything. I don't believe he's the man to come to spurs in its current state and turn us into a winning machine. He has plenty of bottles from winning positions or just not performing in Europe.
