Laptop help (and self esteem destruction)

Cheers for the link but woah. Only macbook pros on there are 3k, I don't know if I can justify that for use of GG / youtube / porn / facebook (not necessarily in that order). I think the fundraiser page would be in poor taste considering the more pressing and important one for a certain board hero on here..

Keep checking, I’ve bought 13” models for £1099 in the last couple of months.

The new Airs are great as well, I’ve seen them on refurb recently too.

just checked my invoices, last one was middle of May, £1059 (inc vat)

Evening all. I want to buy a new laptop, this one is fuggered.

I used to have a nice BIG laptop but for some reason I decided to get a small laptop (this XPS12.5" DELL one I'm using now) which is sh1te because I'm always having to scroll up and down to see "stuff".

I'm thinking of going up to 17" so I can see the full monty. Also for viewing footy I can put it on the table in front of me rather than roasting my lap.
I don't need HD because the dodgy streams I watch are terrible really.
Actually if I wanted to get a VPN and sort out some decent quality streams I suppose I might care? That is a whole other discussion though.

I am NOT one of those guys who wazzes on about his speakers and subwoofers and audio quality etc, I just want a laptop.

Will be used mostly for streaming footy, looking at the internet's finest websites. Not gaming. Not doing work. Not saving files etc.

I know that ASUS and ACER and this and that and that and stuff but I know I'm going to opt for DELL or HP in the end so... here are two low-end (i.e. not gaming) 17" laptops with i7, >500GB SSD

Please can you guys tell me which is the best deal? I can see the DELL does not have a backlit keyboard, which is a shame. But is WAY cheaper. I don't want a touchscreen. I don't care about USB 3.0 etc

So I'm thinking of going DELL but wanted to check in case there was some big omission here...

DELL £829 which is only 72% of the cost of the HP and I could spend the £320 saving on cheese and beer.

Thanks. I don't ever play 'abacus games, I'm 46.

Hmm, is it worth £300 for 2 inches? Ask the Mrs.

Maybe it’s time to try? Buy the HP, a copy of Football Manager and sort out our bloomin midfield would you?

For what you want it for I’d go for something like this

Blatant copy of a MAC (not a bad thing). Aluminium case (as opposed to plastic), v small bezel around the screen means you’re not losing much girth to the bigger boys, the misses will thank me [emoji28]

Good suggestion, though I would have gone for the option with 512Gb SSD for £50 more, or the AMD Ryzen 7 and 512Gb SSD for £599. 256Gb is just not enough.

Jeez, I told you DELL or HP.

Huaweiweieiwi are mining our brains through their 5G Coronavirus Apps.

Get with the program guys.
