Well that’s interesting considering we didn’t have a single DM until he arrived. He is no better than what we have in my opinion.
Can you show me these statsWell that’s interesting considering we didn’t have a single DM until he arrived.
Care to explain why only one player had a better ‘possession won in middle third’ stats if he is so useless? That is exactly the sort of qualities we require....
I read the article today which was a couple of months old, google it and will probably say where took the stats from. I’ve seen him a fair few times the past couple of seasons, always thought he was good but unspectacular - to say he’s no better than we already have is crazy, he is a specialist in breaking up play which we don’t have and will allow other ball playing CMs to flourish - might help Winks regain his best form if he doesn’t have to worry about doing the donkey work.....Can you show me these stats
I’ve heard them quoted but not seen them anywhere
And it also can be because if he loses the ball (or someone else does) because of say a poor pass for example, winning it back counts positively in isolation.

Well according to the Sky Sports stats, he is actually ranked 1st (scroll down article)I’ve seen the articles but never seen the facts behind it
When I’ve challenged people on the facts the answer is pretty much what you have said
I’m not staying it’s not right but comparing his stats to his own team mates it didn’t add up
and the reason why I’m not sure he is better than what we have is as I’ve said loads o genuinely believe the defensive issues we have come from basic errors defensively form players who are similar incompetent like Aurier. look at the goals we concede post lockdown, none came from teams driving through midfield, they all came from defenders being brick at their jobs.
No DM is going to stop Aurier lunging at a ball and then giving it to the opposition whilst he is on his arse, or him also clearing a simple cross to his opposite winger (who he should have been aware of) for example
But if Jose thinks this guy can make a difference I’m all for it as he is the man we have to back
I’ve not heard him call dreadful by anyone their end that’s for sure

Stick around you'll see plenty of it from "the best fans in the world" we are second to none when it comes to extreme reaction to our players. I know Stop! Hammer time but the best ones are made after they seen a player actually play for us rather than clips on the media or bitter fans from selling club.
Yeah still doesn’t add upWell according to the Sky Sports stats, he is actually ranked 1st (scroll down article)

I think as @Grays_1890 has said he is bang average, he will be a comfortable upgrade on what we have...Just skim reading the thread catching up, @Grays_1890 So you do rate hojbjerg or not?
Calling a player for what he was at Southampton makes it honest rather than look at a purposely clubbed together 3min video of his "highlights" that omit his general poor management of his position and giving the ball away due to poor quality on it.
I love Spurs it's why I still pay over 6k a year in season tickets despite Jose club foot tactics and still will once he has left in years to come.
Calling a spade a shovel doesn't make a good or bad fan
You can say and think what you like as far as I'm concerned but the continual need by people on here to over react to any mistake by players and to desend to personal abuse is boring. If you think you fall into those categories and feel I've offend you I apologise but that my honest opinion.
I don't boo players or overact because I'm a firm believer it's not a poor players fault he is in the side.
Defining a player good or bad on here isn't personal it's just my judgement on him, he has no pace that's not personal that's fact..
I don't seem judgement on him NOT changing because he has our shirt on a problem, infact I think it's better to be consistent in my views personally than to flip flop.
As long as you are willing to countenance your views changing if the facts (as you see them) change
That's all I would ask. Thank you.I'm a very straight and fair man and if he makes those strides to gain pace and improve then I will state so
I’m interested in your perspective - it seems that pace is very important to you. Could you countenance a view that good positioning can ever negate a lack of pace? It just strikes me as a bit odd to be so focused on it as an attribute in his position. Some of the best holders - Busquets, Makelele, Freund (!) - haven’t been blessed with much pace, but make up for it in other areas.I'm a very straight and fair man and if he makes those strides to gain pace and improve then I will state so

Anyway, you’re entitled to your view. Just keen to explore it a bit more.
