We were the better team and created enough chances to win the game twice.

Not a good performance overall but don't let that cloud the judgement of the game

Villa are a poor side. Created chances but look blunt infront of goal.
Some of the decision making was what I see in children’s football.

Also at the back we are all over the place. I like that you can take something from that positive but I can’t. I can’t have this Mourinho Spurs.

I would imagine Jose being pretty happy overall. You can see the plan, the Chelsea/Leicester/Liverpool model of quick direct transitions.

However we need to play for each other in the final third and switch on at the back. Don't think we're far away though. You put Harold in this team and we would have scored 6.

Toby didn’t help today
Defended very naively

Exactly this. You can see what’s developing now. I’m excited.

Plenty of chances created but criminally bad finishing made it so much harder than it should have been.
Definite touch of luck at the end with the Engels error but well done Sonny.
Kept trying till the end and it paid off.
Get through Wednesday unscathed, hopefully, and we’re nicely set up for the trip to Stamford Bridge.

Son was absolute dirt in that game but fair play, that was a great finish.

Funny performance. Always felt we'd win but we looked ropey. Grealish was MOTM easily but for us I thought Sanchez, Aurier, Dier, Bergwijn and GLC did well. Moura too and Davies did ok.

Sanchez our MOTM I reckon. I'll take the three points. Building momentum even if the performances are not there yet.

Why? I'd be more concerned if we didn't create chances. But we did and a lot of them, the issue was shocking finishing.

In the end, we fully deserved the 3 points, which is why 2 points dropped would have been so frustrating.

Because we were poor. Villa were awful. And we should have easily been 2-0 down.

If we are going to play on the break or try and win in the last 10 mins when teams tire we need to learn to defend.

Whilst the timing and the nature of the winner was fortunate the game lasts until the final whistle and we created enough situations to win two games. Obviously the misses are frustrating but it’s a better platform to work on than not creating chances at all. Still contrived to concede two goals so it’s not all on the forwards.
