Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

I did. Green in the local elections, but Brexit Party for this one. The Brexit Party don't have a domestic agenda, they are a single issue party and will vanish before Christmas.

What I actually voted for is a protest against both Conservatives and Labour not honouring their central manifesto promise (to deliver Brexit).

Agree with this, if those arseholes in the Parliment had got on and delivered what the public wanted Farage would be a memory.

So every vote for Labour is a vote for the IRA and Hamas? Or might they be votes for social democracy?

Plenty won't vote for Labour because of Corbyns past associations, I guess that means more to them, than climate change, sympathetic views on the far right and the death of the NHS means to you?

I'm not saying to him or anyone else, don't vote for the Brexit party I'm just enlighting him and hopefully others what a vote for that party actually means.

It means what the voter wants it to mean.

GB voted on one issue only as protest. He didnt vote for the rest of it. He told you so.

Im not completely decided but Ill probably be doing the same myself.

It means what the voter wants it to mean

But it really doesn't though. As in really really,
REALLY doesn't.

You don't get to put a * next to your vote.

Let me put it another way. You know I'm pro remain. One of the most pro remain on this board right?

If Farage or someone of his ilk/views/beliefs/moral compass was leading a, or even the ONLY pro remain party. I would not vote for them I would spoil my ballot.

Thats your choice.

You dont get to tell me what I personally voted for, or specifically what my motivation or reasoning or desire was.

If I vote for the Brexit party I am not voting for Farage, or the destruction of the NHS (as if he could do anything like it as an MEP anyway) or any of it.

Ill be voting for Brexit and that alone.

And thats my choice, not yours to try and infer what you will from it and tell me why Ive done something or what I voted for.

Even though the whole election has become a single-issue proxy second referendum?

he doesn't get to tell you your motivation but he can make conclusions on who you voted for

"You voted for climate change deniers, fracking proponents, and far right sympathizers." - as per the quote he did vote for Climate change deniers, fracking proponents and far right sympathizers - that's a fact not an opinion.

He can think what he likes, it wouldnt make him right.

Pedant alert - yes these are things Farage represent and so yes a vote there is technically a vote for that.

But pedantry aside, you know its not as simple as that.

Just as GB stated with Labour, it might be factually correct to state DTA will be voting for the IRA and Hamas.

FACT.

Except, I dont actually think thats true - do you?

Why is the IRA and Hamas factually correct? Labour don't support IRA or Hamas. Corbyn doesn't support IRA or Hamas, he may have done in the past (debatable) but has publically stated he doesn't support them, so even technically this is not true.

I don't follow Farage closely is he still a Climate change denier, fracking proponent? ( I know he still symphathises with the far right). If so that's who you voted for if you vote Brexit party.

It's not me that you have to worry about inferring anything... Who the fudge am I??

But any vote for Farage is a vote that normalises his spectrum of views, it shows the powers that be, that a single issue can push people to vote for someone who would destroy the NHS, deny climate change, support the far right, it's the thin edge of the wedge mate.

If you are comfortable with that as long as you get Brexit... Then ok no problem.

All I'm trying to do is demonstrate what a vote for the Brexit party actually means, in the bigger picture.

Will your single vote for the Brexit party mean the NHS is destroyed? No of course not, but it may very well contribute to its distruction by association.

You will have to live with that.

Like I said you don't get to put a * next to your vote.

I knew you would dig down into the pedantry and miss the point.

Its there if you actually look to see it.

There is the FACT, whatever that may be, and there is the truth of what it is people themselves vote for.

I won't be voting labour this time.

Farage may well hold those views, but those views arent the ones he is hitting the streets with, are they?

The clue is in the name, The Brexit Party, it is literally a single issue thing. Its not The Brexit and Pro Fracking party, is it?

Are you an anti semite? Pro IRA? Or simply a socialist who believes in the Labour offering the greater good? Do you actively support everything about the party and Corbyn? Or do you find they broadly suit your perspective, at least enough that you support them?

All this NHS is really rather dramatic. And I think you know it, but lefties arent against this sort of nonsense (while accusing the right of it from a point of innocence, hilariously).

THE BREXIT PARTY. In a European election. There really isnt any other "by association" nonsense about Fracking and NHS and the rest of it.

Its a single issue, in a single forum, making a single point.

As GB stated up front - he voted Green locally, where you might have had a point.

It means what the voter wants it to mean.

This! Brexit the public movement has very little relationship to Brexit the reality. That people - including Farage - have no outline of what a post Brexit UK would look like tells you all you need to know - it’s a salesman’s pitch where everything is promised and possible, regardless of reality. Farage doesn’t care if Brexit screws the economy, your job, your house value...that is clear with his support of a hard exit.

Never mind the climate change denial (sign they are funded by Russia?) are @parkalne1 @gutterboy happy to get on board with a no deal exit? Hospital supplies, Sunderland car workers out of work - all car workers - financial services jobs slashed and move to Paris, short term issues with food supply. What a shi1 show. This is what you want?

However you vote for I bet there is plenty of brick can be thrown at you for it with a little digging.

The point remains I wouldnt immediately assume THAT was your intent.
DTA comments on who GB voted for not why, I may be reading things wrong but intent is not at issue.

"You voted for climate change deniers, fracking proponents, and far right sympathizers.

Own it, and live with it."

You have your own motivation for voting for someone but that doesn't mean you get a free pass from the other stuff.

* I am comfortable with Labours position on anti-Semitism / IRA / Hamas but even if I wasn't I would have to own these if I vote for them.

It's never a single issue, if you believe that you are being extremely niave.

Every Vote for Farage normalises his views.

Like i said, I'm not saying to you or anyone else how to vote. Just explaining what your vote means in the bigger picture.

Vote Brexit party if you (or anyone else wants) just own the consequence of your actions.
