Helped that he could move to Blind who has to be one of the easiest central defenders to battle with in the air.
Mostly it helped that we got a lot of runners around him when we played it long. Alli, Moura, Son all giving him options either for a flick on or a fairly quick pass after bringing the ball down.

I guess he confounded ajax as much as me. He missed a few sitters. Skewed many passes. But for some reason ajax didn't know how to deal with him.

Its a CL final, cant imagine much could impede a players motivation for it.
Similarly Ive seen links that Trippier has agreed terms with Napoli - do you suppose that will effect his desire to perform if he plays?
