Let's not discount the possibility that he was trying to control it. The ball moved more slowly and over a shorter distance than some of his attempts to do so.
He has an amusing habit of regularly being in the way.
So often he runs either into the space our player on the ball wants to run, or across the path he wants to pass it.
Played well by his own very special standards tonight, but is still so clumsy.

He didn't fall over though, so that might be a positive. And he didn't spill any food on his shirt at half time, surely even you could praise that.

Eight players on that pitch were more utterly useless and gave less of a brick than Moussa did in the second half. He was the only one shuttling back and forth as the game tumbled out of our reach, and the only one in that second half who even looked close to giving a single crap about what was going on. Dele was about half-way, and Foyth was pretty bad, but he's young and new so he doesn't get any blame for this defeat.
But Moussa Sissoko was the only one out there who cared. Not the players, and not Mauricio Pochettino. Moussa Sissoko.
But hey, he gets sh*t on because he cost a lot and has a bad first touch. Not the other eight who arrogantly switched off after 45 minutes. Him.
I never have, and never will like our tendency as fans to turn on each other after games in some exaggerated attempt to prove that one cares more than the other. But at the same time, the way we treat Sissoko angers me, and I don't care who f*cking knows it.

Yes, he certainly avoided Sissokoing it up tonight (except for the 3 or so minutes when every time Dier got the ball, Sissoko was in his way).
I'd rather have a lazy talented player (Berbatov) than a hard working one who can't play football (Noble).

I assume you loved us in the 1990's and early-to-mid 2000's, then. That sort of thing is emblematic of what we are as a club - good and bad, the southern softies who play pretty but fold at the slightest breeze. But where we are now is down to (ostensibly) *finally* having players with a spine, who give a sh*t over having lazy so-and-sos - it just helps that they're good as well.
Not that anyone gave a sh*t in the second half, mind - except for Sissoko and *maybe* Dele and Foyth.
West Ham gave a brick. I can't see them winning the league or even qualifying for the CL in my lifetime.

I dont disagree with you on the others.
But he was brick, I would care if I played and I would be terrible as well.
"But hey, he gets sh*t on because he cost a lot and has a bad first touch" yes, yes he does.... because the touch breaks down moves and gives the ball back - we are not a charity case, just because he showed he cared more means he gets a high rating.

It’s not just that he cared, it’s just that clearly out of everyone last night, Sissoko does not deserve being singled out. He scored, he’s a good team player, he fills his role well. There were many other players in the team that were far worse last night. I’m not saying it was a great Sissoko game - it was a terrible second half team performance and he was part of that team - but he doesn’t deserve getting singled out.

Dier was terrible last night IMO. His performance was far worse than Sissoko's. If I were Poch I would drop him for this weekend's game as a result.

Indeed.... although it also depends on the position you play on the pitch. I don't think Berbatov would ever get a game in a Pochetino midfield for example.
I get that you don't like Sissoko and I can understand your reasons for not doing so as his skill level isn't that of a Spurs type player, but your argument would hold more weight if you criticised others ahead of him when they had clearly had worse games IMO, otherwise it just looks like a witch hunt.

I think with the whole story about how Jose called Dier to "try and tap him up" i think its almost guarenteed he wont play anyway.
He wasn't great yesterday but i thought the issue is that West Ham bypassed him in the middle and hit it long to the corner areas looking for set-pieces deep in our half. My issue with Dier is sometimes his immobility and then him not using his bulk and physique to dominate in the air in defensive areas.
I agree re the general Sissoko comments about last night and i think it's laughable anyone could pin much blame on him for the defeat (Dele, Son and Toby were far more culpable imo for different reasons)
The other players who've had worse games are either at the very beginning of their careers or have shown, over decent periods of time, that they are up to the standard of a Spurs player - they are good players on a bad day. That deserves criticism, but I won't call for them to be sold as they have shown they can play at the required standard and had an off day. Sissoko has yet to look nearly up to the skill level I want to see in my team - even Lloris is more comfortable on the ball than he is.
He is a senior player with (fudge knows how) a decent amount of PL experience. He should be able to control a ball, he should be able to not be in everyone else's way, he should (if our transfer system isn't broken) be able to contribute to our aims of keeping the ball and passing it around/through the opposition.
