Moussa Sissoko

He has been trusted in some big games by kids now and has played in every game this season

Today was by far and way his best performance yet

If he really found his confidence, he could replace Dembele, because he has the ability to pick up the ball deep, drive forward and offload it. I thought this when we bought him, that if he was to have a role in the team, it'd be cover for Dembele. I think he's starting to show he could play that role for us and it's very useful in light of Dembele's fitness issues.

We have that player already in winks

Winks is a different type of player that can play the same position. Sometimes, we might need more strength/pace, so someone with the physical attributes of Dembele to cover his position. And sometimes, like tonight, we'll need them both!

He played well tonight. His touch isnt always convincing. His passing isn't always there. But he has technique, spirit, and pushes himself to succeed. I think he's playing better this season and deserves his chances. However, he was still useless last season & I still don't think he was worth £30m at the time that we signed him.

For me winks now starts tha games in that position. He showed the strength and pace you meant tonight, when he lost it and Ronalo had the shot that hugo tipped Over

Maybe, but there will be different games in the Premier League where the midfield is a lot more physical than Real Madrid's and sometimes, it is necessary to fight fire with fire. I think that's part of what made the Wanyama/Dembele partnership so good last season -- so it's good for us to have the option of replicating that if we need to (with say, Dier and Sissoko).

Well done, Moussa - you're starting to show how you can be important to a team as a team player. Not only a "star" at a relegation battler. Keep'em coming!

In this type of games sometimes the psychological edge is perhaps more important. Sissoko and aurier were not only not intimidated, but played with a callousness against more expensive players and came out looking better.

You can that in the 2nd half the real Madrid defence were dreading being made out and kept dropping back to avoid getting beaten 1:1. It's an ego thing and Sissoko and aurier finished the game with healthier self esteem and deservingly so.

What is this spirit? Resilience? Or just years of playing street football and having to fend for yourself since young?

I would definitely have him in midfield against the better opponents. Nullifying the other teams' attacks and getting us forward with pace on the break. That's a pretty unique skill set.

Neither was Lamela. And?

If we ever get everyone back fit and available (Wanyama, Dele, Dembele and even Lamela) do you think he has done enough that Poch would still consider him for some games? Or is he still bottom of the list?
