Injuries Thread

Just whisper it, but has anyone noticed we've had fewer injuries under Poch?

Walker's pelvis and Chiriches' back he inherited injured and Soldado's neck sounds a bit of a freak one. But that's been it isn't it? Other absences have just been easing WC players back in.

We've actually has senior players (Paulinho, Dembele, Townsend) missing out on the matchday 16 simply because they are 17th, 18th or 19th choice; which I don't remember happening as much before.

I guess not everything is a shambles at the club considering how far down this thread was buried.

The rumoured purchase of Trippier might not be because Pochettino doesn't think Yedlin is ready to back-up Walker; it might be because there's some question over Walker's long-term fitness?

Just a thought.

Érik Lamela is not expected to be in contention to play until October, meaning that he will have been sidelined by a hip injury for a year.

The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder had separate operations on his hip in Barcelona in the past three months and has started his rehabilitation work in the swimming pool in his native Argentina.

Danny Rose will also miss the start of the season and is likely to be fit towards middle of August. The left back had an operation last month on his knee having suffered the injury in January. He was expected to be out for around five weeks but the problem persited.

Son Heung-min underwent surgery on his right forearm on Friday. The attacker fractured his arm in South Korea's World Cup qualifier against Qatar when he landed awkwardly during an aerial challenge last Tuesday. Tottenham and the Korean FA have declined to say how long he will be out for.

So, will any of Dembele/Wanyama/Lamela/Rose be back in contention when the international break is finished?

I'm hoping Poch has purposely delayed the returns of Dembele and Wanyama so that they don't get picked for their countries and that they are available for the constant big game schedule we have got when domestic football returns in a couple of weeks: we will bleeping need them that's for sure!

Wanyama we need back soon, should never have played half fit against Chelsea

Yeah, we've done well without him so far but he's a big loss with the schedule we have over the next month. Physioroom is saying he's due back next Saturday (14th) but I guess we need to take that with a big pinch of salt.

Even if he's available then he won't be match sharp so perhaps he'll get some LC minutes vs the Spammers and then be in contention for United?

Who knows, though, tbh.

With all the injury reports flying in after the WC qualifiers, I'm holding breath in hope we have a healthy squad for the tough stretch ahead.

Mane, Kante, Mustafi, Fellaini and Morata among the walking wounded. A timely moment for us to enjoy a little good fortune if our group remain trouble free.
