Transfer speculation

It's a stupid rule! It's not a deadline then. Might as well just extend it wit 2 hours in the first place.

It IS a deadline. That one form has to be in by now.

Okay, I'm browsing the net and generally not paying lots of attention..

Did they ever go back to the reporter who was outside the Chelsea Stadium (or training ground?). There was a lot of shouting and they cut back to the studio. Kinda feel like he's been assaulted or something.
No. It was just some fans shouting "Wahey, Chelsea" or something I think... obviously my wife chose that moment to actually try to talk to me about our mortgage application and house sale. Has she no idea? Jesus Christ. Some things in life are important. I rounded on her and told her in no uncertain terms that it was blasphemy to drown out the sound of a Sky Sports News presenter being assaulted.

Women.

If you can get additional time to sort out everything that has to sorted, then no, it isn't a deadline!! It like the ref blows the final whistle and a team says:
hey, we wanted to make our last substitution, but we couldn't get him on in time!

Ref: Oh, I'm sorry! We'll play an extra 2 minutes then.

More like you send him on, then fill out the paperwork afterwards.

Yeah, just think it's curious they didn't cut back to them. Thought maybe their 'antics' had got out of hand.

So we have not actually strengthened the squad then?

I think so. Walker is the only player that we have lost who got regular minutes. We have brought in a similar player to replace him. A fast ball playing central defender, meaning that Dier can fight it out with Wanyama for a midfield place. An experienced striker with a good goalscoring record, who also gives us a different way to play. And a prospect.

No weakness in the Spurs squad except inexperience and disgruntled Google using LBs.

Spurs team - 4-2-3-1 formation (1 GK, 2 FB, 2 CB, 2 CM, 3 AM, 1 ST)

GK - Lloris, Vorm, Gazzaniga

CB - Alderwiereld, Vertonghen, Sanchez, Foyth

FB - Rose, Trippier, Davies, Walker-Peters, Aurier

CM - Wanyama, Dembele, Dier, Winks

AM - Lamela, Sissoko, Son, Alli, Eriksen, N'Koudou

ST - Kane, Janssen, Llorente

Very good transfer window

Out - Njie, Wimmer, Fazio, Walker, McGee

In - Sanchez, Foyth, Aurier, Llorente, Gazzaniga

Squad is good, maybe more pace and dribbling needed in attack and potentially a CM who can get on the ball a bit more like a Modric style. Sounded like Gomes might have done that but overall we're well set for a good season.

To all you chaps who say we need to win trophies...

Spurs just won the Transfer Window.
The Goons lost out on Lemar... they lost The Ox and his colleague said it was a #shambles... also Sanchez hates the Goons and was delighted to get out... then got sucked back in.
City wanted Sanchez and failed... and Sky Sports just said "Pep will be disappointed to lose out on Johhny Evans" FFS! They are still relying on Kompany being fit! They tried to get rid of Mangala... yet they paid about 8 billion for him.
Pool wanted Lemar and failed. They didn't get Van Dyke. Nor a goalkeeper!
United...um... zero
Cheatski still have Costa (pending tomorrow) and failed for The Ox and The Ross and The Anyone but they did manage to get Frank Zappa. Woo hoo.

Janssen may be off on loan apparently to Brighton, would like to keep him as think 2 strikers is a bit light as Kane usually misses a few games but be good for him to get some game time and see what he can do as I think he has talent and playing every week at a smaller team will help him. I hope we put in a recall clause for January though just in case anything happens.

Janssen getting some games at Brighton would be the icing on the cake, great stuff. Yes, option to recall in a huge crisis / surge of form would be nice. Paul Barber :)

I like Winks but not 100% convinced yet, looks neat and tidy but hasn't really owned a midfield yet but I think that's a little harsh as few players dominate a midfield at such a young age with that type of playing style. Shame he got injured as was getting regular game time, be interested to see what he can do this season.

Poch can't be sold either if the interest in Gomes was true.

Or he was looking at playing Gomes further forward
