Andre Gomes

The vid of him doesnt look too impressive. CM isn't a priority for me unless Poch has said he needs him.

Edit: The player in the Valencia vid looks like a different guy altogether.

I have never seen this player, ever. Have absolutely no idea of what he is like.

Having looked at his videos Im still not even sure if he is an AM or CM.

All that said, he looks to have composure and awareness, always huge advantages in the PL.

And after all that, if it is a loan + option to buy, Im all in favour. Its like deals with add ons. The total value only ever gets realised if the player is worth it.

On which basis, its a no lose situation isnt it?

Have a look at this one instead:

Whenever I've seen him play for Barca I've never been that impressed but then again Barca midfielders are just meant to provide the ball to MSN rather than be more adventurous. I think you'd be more impressed with the Valencia part of his career

He looks like a Dembele in that vid. But he also gets his head up and picks a pass more often and seems like he gets in the box way more. I now want him at the club BADLY!!!

Im sick of all the defensive signings. We had the best defence and yet we have bought more ( joking ) but this guy. he looks like a Spurs Player. Lets get him in.

Exactly, obvious isn't it so pointless asking why we've gone for him...
No, as a fan I'm entitled to my opinion and I don't think it's the right decision, but I know that Poch makes the calls and he must think it's the right one. That's all I was saying, Sherlock. You're the one who stated the obvious.

You should join JPBB and go out for drinks with him.

Yep I'm thinking a year loan and go for Barkley again next season on a free.

Really hope we don't loan him. It risks the player not being 100% committed to us, or us to him. And lets say he's a success - Barca just call him back next summer. The only way I'd accept a loan would be if we have the right to buy him at a pre-agreed price next summer. Otherwise just bite the bullet and buy him now

Call me Sherlock as many times as you like. You ask a simple question, you get an obvious answer....

Why would a loan player be less committed? I can think of a handful of players who played their best when on loan. The reported deal is a loan with a guaranteed move if he plays a certain number of games.

Yep we would need to have a buy option. It cuts down our risk and if he performs then maybe Barkley may never happen.

Simply because they're returning to their parent club, and a much bigger club, in just over 8 months' time. A loan with a guaranteed move if he plays [x] games works well
