Kevin Wimmer

I liked what I saw - thought he could be a long term heir to Verts.

Sad he's got to a brick club like Stoke - I was hoping he'd end up at Palace.

Hope the long distance relationship/overnight trips up to the Potteries doesn't disrupt Son's form too much

Great bit of business. Stoke have quite a tasty back 3 now with Wimmer, Indi and Zouma. Hopefully with regular playing time Kev gets to where he wants to be.

Did his part, seemed to be good member of squad, good business for all parties, he probably has a raise as well and likely playing time.

Good luck, I'm sure he'll get a decent welcome on his return trips.

Good luck at Stoke. Play well against everyone but us. Also, please dont feel obliged to score the obligatory goal against us. In fact, an own goal might be nice to make amends for the one you scored for the Arsenal!

I'm disappointed that he never kicked on last season. When he stepped in for Vertonghen in the second half of the 15/16 season I thought he was going to hold down that position for the future. Last year though he looked really poor in most of the games he played, I can't help but think he fell out with Poch.

I wish him all the best.

Bit sad that he never really got a solid run to prove himself in the side. He has potential, and he would have ironed out the kinks in his game with playing time - which we unfortunately couldn't (or wouldn't) give him.

Auf wiedersehen, Kevin. The very best of luck at Stoke, and thanks for your efforts at Spurs.
He was unlucky to have two of the best CB's in the league in front of him. Anywhere else and he would have had plenty of minutes.

This is the crux, he was never going to replace the best pairing in the Prem ( Jan and Toby) and if he was ever going to prove what a good player he may be he had to play games elsewhere, good luck to him.

Not entirely true - he was also behind Dier in Poch's pecking order.

One of the two ( Toby or Jan) would have had to be left out if Wimmer was going to be a regular, that was not going to happen.

Or Dier when we were playing 3 at the back or Tobi or Jan were injured (more than 20 PL games I'd wager).

He could have had a decent amount of starts if Poch didn't prefer Dier to him.

Dier plays everywhere, Wimmer would only have played at CB and to do that he would have had to replace either Toby or Jan and as i said that was never going to happen. However it is really not relevant now seeing has he has left.
