would have been a lot better if it had taken place in London.Guess if paperwork doesn't come tomorrow then they would have to wait until monday and then how long until a visa can be issued. Its a bank holiday on Monday so it won't be issued then. Will be huge flak if we end up short at rb.

Most important signing of the summer this will be. This will bring us back up to par again after losing Walker. Any improvement then in AM will be a bonus.

From what I'm hearing this guy is an absolute douchebag. Not that I care, he's a football player and a damn good one at that.

Interested to hear how you rate this guy so highly but can't stand the idea of us signing Barkley when it appears neither are candidates for Mastermind.

Looks an excellent player. Hopefully poch can tame his off the field antics somewhat. The media will be after him.

I honestly couldn't care less if he hit a cop or doesn't like homo's . He's quality and will make a massive difference to our team. He's a beast and if Poch can get him playing to his full potential he will be an absolute bargain.

Being that I have been a victim of serious abuse because I am from an ethnic minority, it would be unacceptable to me for him to be homophobic in any way.

I do feel somewhat uncomfortable about aspects of Aurier (outside of his playing abilities). Anyone who goes live on social media and calls his manager a "faggott" is - at absolute best - showing very bad judgement and ignorance. Whether there was more to it we don't know, but the fact that a term like that would be chosen to use as an insult does imply some at least casual homophobia.

If one of our players had said about Poch or individual team mates the things Aurier said about Blanc and team mates, then he would be transgressing the Poch 'discipline' line in a big way.

He also posted a video at one point calling a referee a dirty s.o.b.

Of course, people make mistakes and a couple of years on he may have matured. (Court case aside as I have no idea of the details).

Poch is reported to have had a long talk with him, so must be convinced.

I'd strongly prefer the club not to sign homophobes or racists or thugs. I didn't like the links with Andre Grey one little bit. It shouldn't really make a difference that we desperately need a Walkeresque right back, but sadly it does make the pill easier to swallow.

Anyway, the real test of whether the club can live up to a rainbow-flagged image comes when Brighton visit. If that passes off without arsewitted homophobic chanting, then perhaps there is a reputation worth protecting.

So it seems the whole homophobic thing is a wee bit exaggerated. This interpretation of the word even makes more sense in the context, as he could be calling his coach a coward for not doing so and so. Still a stupid thing to say, obviously, but maybe piling on the whole "he's homophobic because he said this word" is a bit over the top. How many of you guys have used the word "clam" or "dingdong"? Do you consider yourselves sexist?

The Chelsea rent boy chant is pretty prolific. Maybe not quite the same but still has connotations.
