Federico Fazio

I think Fazio will be remembered as one of our many bad defenders in history. He was too error-prone in defence. I think his mistakes directly caused us to concede many goals.

I did not watch much of Roma last season, but according to reports, he was absolutely fantastic for them.

Fee reported to be just around £2.8m.

It is a bit low but we might have pre-agreed the fee as part of the loan deal.
Yeah that was probably the case, but don't see why we would have agreed that sum even a year ago?! But hey ho, can't really argue that much considering Levys track record with sales....

I think he has his very own way of doing accounting.

I get that we may have factored in a potential sale but with what's happened lately with players having all sorts of issues that were unknown it would take a foolhardy club to gamble on that in this day an age.

Imagine if we had spent the Bentekab money and he ended up with a condition that meant he couldn't play... whilst still a Spurs player

And the of course you have common accountancy rules about not spending what you don't have

But you said we had spent the money already .... which of course is impossible as you can't spend what you don't have

Accounted for it, not spent.

Our net summer spending last summer was exactly zero again (8th consecutive year), once the 3 loans-to-buy were accounted in.

The key point is that our 'war chest' for deadline day will be £54m + the Sissoko fee, not £80m + Sissoko

You can't account for it unless you can invoice it and the acrue it, that's the law in this country... how can you accrue for a player sale that's a variable???
