***OMT TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs KAA Gent - 2nd Leg***

Jurgen the German

David Ginola
Wonder what kind of team Poch will put out for the 2nd leg. I never know with Poch but my gut tells me he'll go for a strong team again. Wonder if our progression in the FA cup with influence his decision making process? The FA cup definitely has to take priority over the EL now IMO, we're two games from the final as opposed to 7 in the EL.

I wouldn't even consider Dembele for Thursday as he seems to struggle playing twice in a week.

I'm guessing this is the OMT for the second leg?

Play the team that beat Fulham, it provides for minor rotation of the squad and rewards those who played a decent game on Sunday.

Including Vorm. Then wheel out the supposed big guns like Lloris, Dembele and Walker for Stoke.

I would agree with this

Should be a proper game. Starting to get exited now as it will be my first visit to Wembley. We really should beat this lot over 2 games. I wasn't impressed with them, but we were atrocious on the day. I'd play pretty much the same team as yesterday, maybe Dier on for Wanyama, who has played virtually every game. Think he has looked a little bit off pace in recent games.

He will play a strong side in the EL.

1) Has the reward of CL, even though obviously at the moment easier to win FA Cup
2) Need to have the experience of playing home games at Wembley as much as possible in Europe this season, as is going to be our home next season for PL

Feel more confident for this with Vertonghen back, good chance we'll keep a clean sheet.

We have to sort out how we are going to play at Wembley.

Are we going to press on the bigger pitch compared to WHL?
Are we going to use the spaces and spread our wings, either with 3-4-2-1 or with 4-2-3-1?

I think our opposition in the CL showed us it is possible to press hard at Wembley but you need hard working athletes to do this.
But in order to spread wings we will need good passers to get the ball out wide, our passing has not been quite up to it nor has our pressing this season.

I think the Dier/Winks combo gives us more running power than Dembele/Wanyama axis. They are also better passers.

The other thought is that if we do get desperate with 15 mins to go, then consider playing Trippier at RM/RW and Walker at RB. It might actually be effective.

Don't know if it's been asked before, but why don't we just paint the lines smaller?

I think everyone wants to see 343 back, its the formation Gent used in the first leg and I can see Poch going out and matching up.

He has refused to play Davies as a wing back.
Can Vertonghen play there? He can't be any worse than Sissoko or N'Koudou were.

Lloris
Dier Alderweireld Wimmer
Walker Wanyama Winks Vertonghen
Eriksen Alli
Kane

What I want to see from this game is Poch to do his preparation, pick a formation and stick with it. In the first leg he used 4 different formations.

Apart from that, Winks really deserves another start. Dembele as always can do with the rest with the persistent hip injury he has.

is it not the Size that WHL will be? if so should we not get used to it as much as possible otherwise we are just delaying the problem.
Can't we do that gradually or does the size have to stay the same for the whole season?
