Jo Cox MP Stabbed.

Gilzeantoscore

Justin Edinburgh
Just heard the Labour MP Jo Cox was stabbed and shot by a RWNJ today. She is in a critical condition. The 51 old male attacked her outside her surgery and shouted a British nationalist slogan. He was reputedly a member or supporter of one of the nut job nationalist parties.

Just saw a photo of her, only looks to be quite young. Hope she pulls through, has friends from both sides of the house apparently.

on BBC just said she died

this is all getting a bit to serious now

apparently she was pro EU and was campaigning for it, personally i have serious reservations about the EU but no mattter what you think in or out, killing people taking human life is unacceptable, this campaign has lacked class on both sides, but now people are dying. Things need to be taken in hand and people need to grow up.

Very sad news my thoughts with her family.

Really sad.
And of course the same people on middle class twitter that rightly say Muslims in general arent to blame for terrorism are blaming the Leave camp for this.

Absolutely awful. I saw news of the shooting pop up on my phone earlier and assumed it was from some personal grievance, such as someone she had not been able to help through her constituency surgery taking a very personal reaction. That would have been bad enough, obviously, and not justifiable in any way, but at least a logical explanation, If the reason is really down to political ideology, then that is far, far worse. What are things coming to?

Terrible, feel so sorry for her family.

I don't think it should be politicised -- this is the work of a mad person. It wasn't that person's politics that drove him to do such an awful thing, it's the fact that he isn't right in the head. Mad, bad people who want to kill will always find a reason. They can latch on to politics, religion or some other perceived slight or 'cause'.

My thoughts as well, I think things are getting more political over the last few years because of the economy and I understand the right to protest. But I do worry we will go back to the 70's with violence becoming the norm. Whether it on the left or right it is just unacceptable.

Funny thing is ten years ago I was interested in politics, but now apart from moaning about southern railway I don't care enough, I guess it is a sigb of getting old.

This in/out business seems to be getting to personal and heated and with such a close poll whichever side loses we are not going to hear the end of it I fear.

I really hope this is right and that it is down to the individual's mental illness rather then something more rational. (Although that opens up all sorts of other questions about mental healthcare etc.). But either way, I acknowledge I am guilty of jumping to conclusions based on speculative media reporting. I'll rein back until more is known.

Maybe i have read it wrong but jumping in and casting it down to the fact she was pro EU is jumping the gun a little. Is that what you are suggesting? that she was killed because someone wanted us out of the EU?

This is probably not the right place for it but this campaign has brought out the worst in this country, media and our politicians. Both sides have been awful and should be ashamed. Even before today, it has made me feel sick to the pit of my stomach. I hope that I never see another referendum in this country.

She was a very prominent campaigner for Syrian refugees and the murderer is meant to have shouted Britain first whist killing her. Some people have said that a political atmosphere where people have stoked up fear and spread lies about immigrants could have been a motivating factor. I think that it is all too early for that and that is for another day. I am just shocked that this has happened and feel for her family.

Some people may say that ( but as i say its jumping the gun a bit), it is too early for( some) people to jump to conclusions about a terrible thing to happen.

It's happened on both sides but let's leave it there and for another day.

Here here Milo. RIP Jo thank you for trying to make the world a better place when so many are just in it for themselves.

How is it that this hasn't had the Prime Minister labelling it for the act of terrorism it is. How is killing people to infringe on their civil rights in the name of religion any different to doing so in the name of politics.

Me thinks the only difference is the colour of the perpetrators skin.
