Best live experience

Machine Head - Brixton Academy 2004
Foo Fighters - Reading Festival 1995
Neds Atomic Dustbin - Kentish Town Forum (can't remember the year)
Pearl Jam - London Astoria 2006
Eric Clapton Blues Night - Royal Albert Hall late 80s
Metallica - Milton Keynes Bowl 1993ish?
Rob Zombie - Soundwave Festival 2011
Slayer - Soundwave Festival 2011
Did you catch Machine Head when they toured here last year? That was insane. Small venue where everyone was into it.

Also, there's a rumor going around that they are bringing Download festival here next year.

Massive Attack - Sydney Myer music bowl, Melbourne 2011
Chuck Berry - Portsmouth Guildhall 1984
Red hot chilli peppers -Hyde Park 2004
Stevie Wonder - Homebush Sydney 2008
Metronomy - Forum, Melbourne 2014

Pearl Jam. Cramp cesspool of humanity @ Rock City, Nottingham circa 1992. Eddie meandering amongst the crowd after the gig. "Ten" had just been released. Nirvana were all the rage. not many people gave a fudge about Pearl Jam. How'd that work out for you Kurt?
Dire Straits. Maine Road. gentle Summer breeze caressing Knopfler's wispy hair. sun going down reflected off his forehead as he serenaded me with Romeo & Juliet...
Tori Amos. Paladium i think. i forget. fixated, nay transfixed by her stage presence & incessant grinding on her stool. sexiest show i have ever seen..by some distance
The Police reunion Tour. Always been a big fan. never got to see them live before. saw them at 5 gigs. best one was where sting's crotch was most visible..i was that close.

Crazy crazy amount of people. :)

Nah mate I think it was around the time my son was born/in hospital. Fingers crossed Download gets over here, we need that kind of music festival.

Good shout, they were incredible around 1991 in Coventry Polytechnic, supported by Drop iirc. I nearly died. Halcyon days. Remember my mate driving us in an old yellow Metro

Oasis supported by The Verve at Earls court 1997. It had the feeling of the new boys coming good.
The Who, o2 arena. Just an amazing night

I actually got offered tickets to see the Foo Fighters do a gig at Kings College student union bar in June 1995 (before the infamous Reading gig) but turned them down as I didn't fancy the sound of them.

Daft Punk @ Global Gathering 2006 - probably the most insane light show you'll ever see

Rage Against the Machine @ Reading Festival 2008

going to see At the Drive In in a month or so, pretty sure it will be awful but i never got the chance to see them back in the day plus it's at the Roundhouse which i have never been to so im killing two birds with one stone

Probably the first real concert I ever attended (age 12) was the most significant one I've ever been to, though because I was so young, I didn't appreciate it as much as I would have had I been older. I saw Bob Dylan open for the Grateful Dead at a 100,000 person outdoor concert at the Franklin County Airport in Vermont in the summer of 1995, just a month or two before Jerry Garcia died. I was definitely overwhelmed by the scene!

I tend to avoid mega-concerts (tough to justify the price in my eyes) these days, but see a lot of punk shows. My favorites have been NOFX, Rancid, Bad Religion, Stiff Little Fingers, and Social Distortion, all in San Francisco; also saw most of these bands in Montreal at one point or another when I was younger and living in Vermont.

Edit: Had a great time two summers ago at Outside Lands music festival in SF; Tom Petty was the highlight for me.

That weekend was more about Soundgarden followed by N Young/Pearl Jam. ;)

I will never forget turning around and seeing 60K(?) people jumping in unison to Rocking In The Free World!
