The NFL Thread

lets see how he gets on in a real game against starters

Either way, its an interesting story and will only help continue to grow the popularity of the game worldwide. If this comes off, expect NFL clubs to be all over Rugby League and Union players to fill up their depth.

Is there a more ridiculous over-hyped sport in the world?

Superbowl is currently on and it really is a load of stop start commercial ridden dross.

Rugby and Tennis oh and golf (except for Ryder cup)

Basketball is ridiculously overhyped. A lot of wannabe gangsta rappers love it of course.

Rugby doesn't get much hype outside the UK, but it's an okay sport. Neither does cricket, probably because it's rubbish.

Laughable.
Ever heard of Australia? New Zealand? France? Seff Efrika?

One would assume viewing figures for the Superbowl and World Cup final.

ok, surely the fa cup final would be a better comparison, NFL is a domestic not international sport so the interest is bound to reflect that

not sure what the conclusion of that graphic is supposed to be?

I was going to suggest viewers but I suspect the Superbowl gets nearly that just in the US

I think those are US figures yes. International numbers estimated at around 160 million by Reuters.

Not laughable at all. Rugby is a fairly small sport world wide. There are individual countries that show a large-ish interest, just like there is for several of the large US sports. But in a conversation where American Football is being seen as hyped Rugby is clearly fairly small.

Hmmmm, no it isn't.

Super Bowl is the pinnacle of the sport. Champions league final might be a comparison.

Either way, the graphic is obviously to let yanks know that their BS sport isn't actually that big a deal. They're so out of touch that they even have Coldplay on at half time.

thats still an intercontinental tournament, NFL is a one country sport

it's a big deal to them, let them get on with it

coldplay were fudging awful (as ever) their dingdonghead lead singer was bouncing around like a rap artist, i'd love to punch him in the face, I thought it was hilarious that they get coldplay but they had to play other people's music as nobody would recognise their own stuff, clams
