Agree totally with Yoofs starting eleven.

Maybe have CCV on the bench and put him on, if we go 2 or 3 up. Toby has played a lot and could do with some rest.

Oduwa on the bench with a possible cameo in the last 15-20 minutes could also be a good idea.
 
Agree with @Yoof's team as well.

If we intend on keeping Fazio, I'd be tempted to play him in this too (instead of Alderweireld). Might be a bit risky, BUT if we are thinking on keeping him to cover for Vertonghen's injury then might be worth getting him game time.

Obviously we still need to beat Colchester too!
 
Colchester are sitting bottom of League 1 comfortably one of the worse teams in England right now in terms of form

I don't think that chopping and changing the CB partnership in the PL is a good idea. I would like to see Poch decide on his first choice and stick with it, so that they have a chance to build an understanding.

Agreed. Would even be rather tempted to see Alderweireld and Wimmer against Colchester too to help them continue to develop an understanding. Good period off now before this game, Barcelona trip and all. Centre backs should be perfectly capable of playing through a handful of quick fire fixtures.

They're just hoping to keep us in single figures.

With relegation all over bar the shouting, the only really meaningful game left for our heroes this season is the Spurs game. Spurs will obviously not be fielding a full strength team, so I fancy Col U to be able to hold them to a single figure scoreline. In fact I think we may even get away with only conceding 6 or 7. Of course I may be too optimistic but it should be an entertaining game with plenty of goals at least.

Fans will recall how much beating Ipswich eased the pain of our last relegation.

Indeed, I don't see why beating the Shrimpers can't fire up our season and see us head for safety. We have escaped so many times; mid table mediocrity would be boring!

Are our guys back at Colchester yet? I assume they were walking back from Sclamhorpe after that debacle.
As far as Saturday next goes I expect the U's to play considerably better than last Saturday and in some way that will disappoint me in that while we won't win the FA Cup we still should be wanting to stay in Div.1.
As you say Durham, Southend in an absolute must win game if only to lift us out of the doldrums we have found us in during the last few months.
Could it be that our recent performances will frighten away possible suitors of our best players ? "Could be a cunning plan".

I agree with you I think we will give Spurs a good game and I reallyfancythe U's for a draw.

Whilst Spurs have gone to Barcelona the U's are in Frinton for some culture !

The Spurs game will propel U's to get a result at Roots Hall.

I don't see why not a giant-killing, or a bit of a defensive 1-1 with a replay at The Lane.

The money to be made in a replay would help buy a great player or two -- even into League 2 --

Agree. And its very much Poch's way of thnking, to decide who Toby's new partner is (probably Wimmer) and stick with that until that breaks. Playing centre half for us is not that strenuous anyway, we're controlling the game most of the time.

Anyway this lot are so tinkle poor i reckon Jan could play.
