***OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Everton***

Very disappointed with this draw but not at all surprised. We seem to love drawing matches this season. And annoyingly, we rarely win 4 matches in a row as well. After winning the previous 3 matches, always knew we will have problem winning this match. We simply need much more quality and mentality to win the league title now. We have drawn far too many matches which we should have won. Everton have done their most to destroy our top 4 chances by forcing us to draw home and away this season. I guess we were fated to draw this match as we hit the post twice. We did play well in the first half, coming from behind to equalize and hitting the post twice but we had a poor 2nd half.

Credit to Alli for scoring our only goal. He took his goal really well like an experienced player. In fact, Alli was the only one looking like scoring a goal in this match. Disappointingly, Kane went missing after his shot hit the post in the first half. Kane has won us many points but I think he has also lost us many points this season. He has simply wasted too many one-on-one goal scoring chances. We could have beaten Everton home and away this season if Kane had scored from the one-on-one chances he had in both matches. He really should have done better with the chance in the second half when Alli expertly set him up. But he was too slow to react which allowed the Everton defender to tackle him. Disappointingly, it was our only real chance in the second half.

Our midfield badly missed Dembele in this match. Without him, we were unable to control the midfield as needed. Carroll is still not ready start league matches. For all his work rate, he simply makes too many mistakes. I think Pochettino should have started Mason or even Bentaleb instead. Thought Lamela had a poor match as nothing went right for him. Was very disappointed when he hit the defensive wall from freekick in the second half. It seems we no longer practise freekicks as all our freekicks has been shyte lately, including from freekick specialist Eriksen.

Very disappointed with the defence for the goal we conceded, especially the way we let our ex player Lennon score ! Don't know why we have this bad habit of letting our ex players score against us. Vertonghen should have never let Lennon take that shot. It was very annoying to see Lennon score as he has never scored a goal like that for us. Apart from that our defence did well as Everton didn't have any other goal coring chances until late in the match. Too bad Davies hit the post instead of scoring. It was a golden chance to score.

We could have strengthen our title race if we had won this match. Instead, now we are 6 points behind Arsenal. We have simply thrown away many valuable points by drawing too many matches this season. We really need to buy a reliable striker get us the goal when we badly need it.

Knew I could trust you to turn 3 wins and 1 draw (best in the PL over those holiday fixtures) into a negative...

Spurs7891 is a robot and regularly has his post 36 hours after the game to highlight the good, the bad and the ugly

He supports us from afar (some where in asia) and loves to get his essay in and fair play to the fella

Although I did find it odd when he commented earlier in the thread about being disappointed at the kick off time as it meant TV problems where he lives...

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, even if they are pessimistic. That post, after we got 10 from 12 points over the Christmas break was waaaay up on the misery scale - too many negative comments to even count - hence my comment. And I also support from afar (LA) and wake up early for games, do I get credit for that?

Didn't know I got legion of followers for my posts ! Thought I was just following pre and post match rituals !:p

But frankly not sure how people do not get upset about us losing 2 points against Everton ! This is our best chance to win the league title in 55 long years ! Every point we lose will affect our chances to win the league title. It will be much harder to be in the title race next season as teams like ManCity, Chelsea, Liverpool and ManU will be much stronger.

Many of us do get upset, and yet we look at the context of this season and draw some positives - Poch is a young, inexperienced manager, we regularly play the most inexperienced (in terms of age and Premier League appearances) side in the league and our young team is learning as they go. Everton, despite recent results, are no mugs. They have one of the most potent strikers in the league (Lukaku), great full backs (Coleman/Baines), a solid midfield (Barry/Cleverly) with bags of creativity (Deolufeu/Barkley). Yes, their goal was avoidable - a classic 3-4 mistake goal starting with the poor pass to Eriksen who lost possession, Davies not keeping an eye on Lennon and Verts not putting his body on the line to stop the shot - but we were an inch away from two other goals.

I guess this discussion comes down to personality after the fact. When we hit the woodwork like we did I felt it was not going to be our day (thank Ghod Lloris made those saves in the 2nd half) and then the wider context came through. This is how this team learns.

COYS!!!!!

Lennon has scored similar shots - see our first win over Mourinho's Chelsea and then Berbatov (i think) layoff vs. Wigan. He is always been a tidy finisher.

On Kane, I think he needs a break. We really need a backup. It wont be easy to find one though.

He's getting a break, we've got a week between games and there is a fair chance he won't start on Sunday which would give him a week and a half off. I bet that Kane doesn't want a break though.

Grimsby Yid -- your agendas against certain players are just weird, I wish you'd stop with this nonsense.

As for the game, it was a disappointing 2nd half after a very good first half. Everton pushed up a bit more and after their double sub, we didn't seem to get a good grip on the game.

I actually thought Carroll and Eriksen were ok -- our worst players were Kane, Lamela and Son when he came on. Aside Harry hitting the post with a great shot, he had a bad day at the office. The other two were hopeless today imo.

Overall, a point is a decent result, just unlucky in the first half.

And what a goal by Alli!

Why do people struggle about people having different opinions? This forum is so bizarre. I think Carroll is rubbish. I think mason is rubbish. I think this season rose has been rubbish. Why does there have to be an agenda? And what agenda could I have? I support Spurs, I want the best for Spurs, I have no connection to any of these players. Why would I give a fudge and deny if I think they're great players?

Maybe it is the way that you post that makes people think that you have a vendetta against certain players.

Maybe. I can be pretty hyperbolic in my expression, but I only go on what I see and the genuine opinions I have. At least I express why I think the way I do. I used to say the same about Harry Kane, but he's obviously incredible. Townsend, Mason and Carroll have never impressed me. Moments here and there. Rose was fantastic last season (I thought he was awful before that). I genuinely would love Mason and Carroll to turn out to be incredible players, but they haven't shown even glimpses that they can reach those heights.

Contender for 'largest dose of self-entitlement ever discovered in a post' award?
The annoying thing about this chap's posts is that each one completely igonres the agency of the other side and completely overlooks the fact that there is a team of professional, premier league footballers on the field who want to beat us.

We can't sink into a depression every time we concede a goal, or everytime we drop a point! Last time i checked, we were Tottenham, not Barcelona, and Everton are a good side with good players. I thought only Real Madrid and their fans start frothing at the mouth everytime they don't win a game 6-0?
