***OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Everton***

Carroll looked better than Dier

I love Dier but he gave away the ball a few times in costly areas

Carroll was impressive up until 70mins and he helped us tick over. He won't give him fair credit either.

He also won't say anything about us getting rinsed down our left time and time again because his most hated player wasnt starting....

Draw was a fair result. We absolutely battered them in the first half but they were the better team in the second. Kane looked completely spent and really should have been substituted. Can't stress the urgency of getting another striker in enough.

None of our subs made any meaningful impact unfortunately. Apart from his goal against Watford then Son only seems to play well when he starts games. I was surprised to see Eriksen go off as he was playing well - and we got far worse when he went off.

Point there isn't the worst result in the world - Chelsea, Liverpool, Emirates Marketing Project and Man Utd have all dropped points there in the past 12 months, although it does feel a little like a missed opportunity. We'd have gone 8 points ahead of Liverpool if we'd won and would have had the opportunity to overtake Leicester by beating them in our next league game.

Kane, Alli, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Dier and Lamela all definitely need a rest for the cup game.

Robbie Mustoe of 'Boro on NBC gave Tom Carroll the Man of the Match award. He said he didn't do anything incredible, but did lots of small things well and deserved a mention

And souness and carragher both said he was excellent on sky

Spot on

Spurs defender Toby Alderweireld, speaking to Sky Sports: "The first-half was the best of the season. We were unlucky, we could have scored twice and were then unlucky to go behind, but showed a lot of character to come back. I think we lost two points today.”

Robbie who? Oh, that twit who used to play for lecicester. A tinkle take surely?

I want Eriksen out of the team! He offers no presence at all! To blame for the first goal with another insipid 'effort' out on the flank. Until he regains form, I would prefer Son in the team. Ben Davies is not as good as Rose and I think today showed why, (where was he for the Lennon goal?). He gets caught out of position and is about as intimidating as being savaged by a dead sheep. Rose has the intimidation factor and with a run of games will be steady. His problem this season has been interrupted game time. Carroll...no, no, no. Too small and not good enough. I think Poch got his selections wrong today. Carroll should not have played and neither should Davies.

I can't understand why Rose is not first choice!

Really proud of the lads today, luck went against us in the first half, Kane and Davies could have both grabbed amazing goals...Alli could go on and be as big as Bale IMO.

Thought Carrol played well but lost his head near the end, Lamela was frustrating again.

Perhaps a draw was a fair result but on that first half showing we could have been out of sight, need to beat Leicester next which is far from a simple task...either way onwards and upwards.

We used a bit of our luck up in the last game. Great first half from us and unlucky not to go into halftime ahead. I have lot of time for Everton; an honest team that works hard. Ref had a good game too.

Let's see that stats after the game

I'd wager that son had twice as many touches in a little more time

The guy offers nothing

We have progressed beyond Chadli now

14 league goals? No way.

Even last year when he had 11 goals in 15 games people were saying he was brick. People never liked him from the word go and he deserves a lot more respect. Should he be starting right now? Hell no - but he's a good option for us

What do expect from Gooner Tyler and Andy Hinchcliffe, (journeyman Everton player.)

This is what f#cks me off most about Sky. Why are we having ex-players commentating in matches which involve their former team. Or at least if you do, have one from each team.
It seems everytime we play Arsenal, Alan Smith is on the mic

Wow some people giving Davies some stick too...

He did nothing wrong and a lot right

Their goal was as good a goal as Lennon will score all his career and it Came from him coming into the centre so Davies may not have as Much accountability as some may want to pin on him

We should have taken advantage on our dominance in the first half when Everton handed the game on a plate for us. We were a bit unfortunate hitting the woodwork twice, of course, but the goal we conceded felt very unnecessary, and we also should have created more clear cut chances perhaps.

The second half was how I expected the whole game to be. End-to-end, high tempo and very open. Everton probably shaded it though, and we finished very poorly like we did against Watford. I was happy to hear the final whistle in the end, even though it feels like two points left. Now we need to take advantage of two home games coming up, and hopefully make up for the points we dropped this weekends compared to our closest rivals.

Very pleasing performance- good start to 2016!

Everton can be excellent if a little sloppy at times

I said some time ago that if Dembele got injured we would lack efficiency in the midfield...and that we need another strong player in that area.
Erikson not being able to make things happen then?
Dier moving forward apparently towards the end of the game!
If that's so, it proves my point that we still lack power in the middle of the park.

I can't see us making a challenge for the top now...

Where in Gods name is Pritchard......... oh yeah and Nije..LOL

Anyway...disappointing wit poop bums winning!

Think N'jie is gone for 3 months, so almost the rest of the season with rehab time. Think Pritchard is about to start training again so I read somewhere

Also, how bad is their coverage. someone brought this up about the last game too, compared to BT Sport. The balls in play and they have the camera on some Everton player who's on the bench, or putting the camera on a particular supporter who they keep going back to.
