Vert - 6
Rose - 5
Dembele - 6
Carroll - 4
Alli - 5
Lamela - 7
Kane - 6

Subs:
Eriksen - 6
Son - 7

Poch - 4

Rose, Kane and alli 4
Lamella 8 and MOTM
Everyone else 7
Eriksen did well and hope mousa is ok.

Ref had a very mixed game, never a booking for alli or Toby yet a forearm in the face isn't a red!

Didnt like the sight of Trippier at first. He is too slow for a RB but he has a good cross. Became better as the game went on.

Dele Alli, Tom Carroll need a rest. They had a bad game today.

Rose, Kane and alli 4
Lamella 8 and MOTM

Kane 4? Haha, listening to the radio commentary he had a really excellent game

Lloris - 6 - Can someone please have a word with him about his kicking? Constantly puts us in trouble when he could either play a simple ball or just put his foot through it and get the ball into the opposition half.

Tripper - 6 - Nothing special but no rooster ups either.
Vertonghen - 6 - OK
Alderweireld - 6 - Not quite his normal standard.
Rose - 5 -

Dier - 7 - Couldn't decide what to give him but he gets and extra mark for that block at the end.
Dembele - 6/N/A

Lamela - 7 - Took his goal well. Worked hard.
Alli - 6 - No idea why he was booked.
Carroll - 5 - Son should have started.

Kane - 6 - Not a lot of service.

Subs:
Son - 7 - Unbelievable goal!
Eriksen - 6 - Big fan of his but he's been perhaps our only disappointing player so far when he was our best player last season after Kane.
Chadli - 6

Poch - 6 - Would have started Son (not just because he scored) over Carroll.

Did you see the game or listen on the radio? He was cack, shooting from 25 yards when players ahead are in space, or rather than passing to play someone in his passes are forcing them wide so they have to cross.
To me he is playing for himself and not the team.

That is very harsh! I thought Kane was fine, lots of running, passes, crosses, no problem, playing for the team.

We were tired and struggled.

1) carroll was decent but had poor moments - doesn't deserve a 4.

2) Rose was fine but going forward looked leggy.

3) criticise Poch but they had one bloody chance and we Nulified them mostly and if it wasnt for tired legs we could have ripped them,

4) pitch was brick - our tactics were good

5) kane did fine

Some of You lot are ridiculous with your ratings. Compare us to liverpool getting torn apart and you will see how solid we were

Seriously - he held the ball well
And did a shift

MOTM today was Poch. Let's just remember that a team with two of the most in-form strikers in the league didn't have a single shot on goal until they scored. They were ready to scrap and fight, our players were up for it too. The switch to three at the back was intelligent and worked well. And then of course, on comes Son from the bench to score the winner.

OK, as @Bullet advised, in the Norwich thread, I had many beers.
However, today I didn't go to the beach club, and hence no Pimms or stiff Bloody Marys !!!

A mate from Nairobi popped in at lunchtime ( people from upcountry in Kenya tend to spend there festive season at the coast )
Had a few beers with him at lunch.
During the game, sitting on my rooftop bar, over looking the Indian Ocean, I had 5 very cold beers.

My observations, in no particular order:
- Was surprised to see wee little "Xmas" Carroll start against some big and tough Watford guys.
- Lamela scored, although he was still looking to pass to Kane who wasn't there.
- Lamela should be more selfish, when in the right scoring positions, and not always look for Kane to pass to. Like 4v1 last game.
- Kane looked knackered and was selfish.
- Alli wrongfully booked. But he needs to calm down.
- Trippear was good replacement for Walker. Good crosses.
- Rose was useless
- When Watford went to 10, I was very scared. We don't play well when opposition loses a player.
- Towards the end I was hoping we could hold on for a point.
- Luckily the Son of WHL saved us.
- Hope Dembele is OK.
- We need to sign a CF

Overall a great festive season in terms me drinking :), and Spurs getting maximum points.

Agree to a point, but Watford were the team who looked like they could go on and win the game in the last 10 minutes, with 10 men! Yes we limited them to few chances, but we barely created anything ourselves. Yes we won and I am delighted, but the performance was one of the worst of the season.

We were just off today. Passes were constantly off, a little behind or just poor. Rose had a bad game offensively. But he weren't the only one who used it poorly.

Lamelas goal was great. What a finish.

Great to see Gomes again. Fond memories of the guy.

Yeah cack is probably a bit to far, but I do question his decisions the last 3 or 4 games.

In a game of marginal decisions I would rather have a top scoring superstar striker that takes slightly too many shots than slightly too few.

He's doing exactly the same he was last season. And exactly the same as he was earlier this season when he wasn't scoring.

Said it before and I'll say it again... Dier needs to learn some cynical shirt pulling defending from Vertonghen. We looked in complete control at 1-0 and it was a complete nothing situation where we should be able to crowd out Ighalo in the box. The only way he gets to the goal is by going through Dier.

Sorry but I disagree, last season when he dropped back he linked play well and made the correct decision a lot of the time. Recently when he has dropped back he seems to me to be trying to manlipulate play to his advantage. Several times alli, eriksen or Lamella have been in good positions ahead of him and he had ignored them or played the wrong ball.

Yeah. We'll just have to continue to disagree then... Several times last season other players were in better positions and Kane went for goal. IIRC there was a EL game where he was even one on one with the goalkeeper with Soldado (?) available for the easiest of square passes for an open goal tap in and Kane went for goal himself instead. It's been a recurring trait for him. One I like.

Kane did make some poor decisions today while leading the line especially taking shots. I am beginning to recognise that is part of his bag of tricks. Sometimes they work, sometimes they dont.

Apart from that he had some good link up play.

If was a terrific performance because of the result. We did what good teams do now and again, ride their luck and deliver the result. Still such a young team and so much more to learn. Hope Dembele's groin is okay. We need him - the only midfielder or forward player above 23! Bar Chadli (and Mason 24), who might come in if Dembele is out to provide some strength and assurance.

Carol was okay, it was his first PL start for sometime. Alli showed a lot of willing but couldn't break through. Not his best display, after his brilliant game 2 days ago. Kane his usual self, the run he made just after Lamela's goal deserved a better finish from Lamela, who was excellent (MOM?). Trippier needed that, his crossing was good all game, and setting up the winner will give him a lift. Alderweireld is just so fundamental to us. I worry about him burning out or getting injured. He is out best defender, mopping up a lot of bits and pieces, and he comes forward with the ball so well (apart from a couple of tired passes at the end of the game). Eriksen's work often goes un-noticed. Yes he can give more - goals - but he keeps us ticking when he's on the pitch. Son needs to start some games. Hard to know who for. We don't have under-performing players anymore. All credit to the management!
