I never like playing Everton especially at Goodison, but with the power of the Badger we will be victorious.

I expect Lukaku to cause us trouble (stating the bleeding obvious) but their defense to give us plenty of chances

Scored in 9 league games in a row now. I really don't want to see any talk about beating Vardy's record.

If you're in Colombo, try the Playtrix sports bar, a bit south of the national museum.

Will be along the coast probably in Tangalle. Poor me. Do big hotels show PL games in SL? I maybe trying to find fast internet somewhere...

Well, I've never been to Tangalle. :p If you're in a hotel, you should be covered at least in terms of Star Sports and ESPN - they were available in the remotest bits of Sikkim in India, so I have no doubt that they'll be available in any of the larger hotels in Sri Lanka as well. However, I can't guarantee that, because the only time I've caught a PL game in SL was at the aformentioned sports bar a couple of years ago.

The only problem with Star Sports/ESPN is that it's really a crapshoot as to what games they choose or are able to show :) . They ignored our opener against United to show Bournemouth-Villa, for example.

I think Poch will pick his 'reliable' XI, which is:

------------lloris
walker----toby---vert---rose
------dier-----dembele
--lamela----alli-----eriksen
-----------kane

-----------------Lloris

Walker----Alder---Verts---Davies

------------Dier------Mason

--Dembele-----Lamela----Son

------------------Kane

Rest Alli. Drop Eriksen and Carroll.

He didn't score against Saudi Sportswashing Machine, did he?

But yes, he might gave us a hard time, although we have handled him reasonably well in recent games.

I think we could easily stick with today's fullbacks and get some proper rest into the other two, Walker especially.

We run the risk compounding Dembele's fitness issues, so perhaps we could look at Mason or Bentaleb, or drop Alli in and play Son in the three.

It's FA Cup weekend after Everton away. So I would pick our strongest XI for Everton away (3rd Jan, 5 days of rest between now and then), pick a Second XI v Leicester in the cup, then pick our strongest team for the next league game (also against Leicester) on the 13th Jan (10 days after the Everton game).

Sun 3rd Jan - Everton away (league) - strongest XI
Sun 10th Jan - Leicester home (FA Cup) - second XI
Wed 13th Jan - Leicester home (league) - strongest XI
Sat 16th Jan - Sunderland home - mixed XI (some rotation)

That's what I'd do!

I think the Everton game will be the toughest, especially after they lost today.

On the other hand the Everton game probably suits our style of play and strengths quite a bit more. They will probably look to play out from the back and through our pressure giving us decent counter attacking chances if we press well enough. We can defend and be fairly happy with a draw whereas they probably have to go for the win.

The Leicester games will quite possibly much more mirror the Watfor and Newacstle games as they will sit back, defend in an organized really hard working way and look for the quick direct counter attacks. Their buildup play will likely be very low risk and we won't benefit much from our pressing game.
