OMT*** Tottenham Hotspur vs. Stoke City *** 15/08/2015 3pm

Jurgen the German

David Ginola
Lloris (if fit)

Walker---Alderweireld---Vertonghen---Rose (if fit)

Mason---Alli

Eriksen---Dembele---Chadli

Kane
Where: White Hart Lane
When: 15/08/2015 3pm Kick off
We need a bit of steel in the team so I've gone for Mason instead Bentaleb. Stoke are filth so we need physicality so I've gone for Dembele also.

I hate Stoke. Mark hughes is a clam, Charlie Adam is a gap tooth clam. I hope we smash them but would take a jammy 1-0 or 2-1 in the last minute with them getting 5 clear cut penalty appeals turned down.

2-1 Spurs

Eriksen and Kane with the goals.

Agree with team, only switch Alli and Dembele. Actually, I'd be tempted to switch Mason and Dembele. It's probably going to be a 1-0 affair, with Berahino scoring one minute after he gets on the pitch in the 82nd minute. :)

Stoke are bastards. Always play well at the lane. Gonna go for a 1-2 loss. Everyone calling for Poch to go.

You heard it here first.

They know that we don't like playing them and it fires them up. There's a good way to counter act it, fast out of the traps like we used to do under Redknapp, if we play uninspired football and don't create much in the first 20-30 mins, then we will lose.

I want to see a high intensity, high energy first 15 minutes or so, the crowd will only get frustrated if it's 0-0 after 25 minutes.

2-2

Kane and Chadli for Spurs.....Walters and Shaquiri for the thugs

So are we not fussed about a more defensive CM now that people are pairing two of Mason/Bentaleb/Alli together?

Lloris
Walker Alderweireld Vertonghen Rose
Dier Bentaleb
Dembele Eriksen Chadli
Kane

Think we will get a 0-0 draw and lose. Our main opportunity is if we can get a first half lead. If not any team who plays narrow and sits deep will find it relatively easy to keep us to half chances or long range effort as we have zero pace or directness to open teams up. We also still look a little vulnerable to teams breaking on us and Stoke do have some quality. I expect a cagey game but unless we see a moment of brilliance from one of our likely suspects I think we will struggle badly.

the game is at WHL, not The Britannia ;)

Its obvious we are not going to have any attacking reinforcements until the end of the window at the earliest. With that in mind and my utter frustration with the likes of Lamela and Chadli this is my line up:

Alli staying mostly central but Eriksen and Pritchard inter changing with the all Three. Alli will be up for it and so will Pritchard. Mason gives us the industry and Dembele for the more defensive role.

Ill go for 1-0. I wont mind that. A hard fought game with a clean sheet and a victory would be nice.

Its amazing. We have a young player in Velkiovic who plays DM, we have Dembele who has played DM. But no. Lets put Dier in, a Centre Back who has never played there.

From the outside I guess it looks odd - but then we don't see what's going on on the training ground - could be that he displays all the traits Poch requires from a CM? At least as a stop gap until someone else comes in or Mason returns.

I think Dembele's quick passing game is what is stopping him from being preferred there and iirc Dier has played in this position whilst at Sporting Lisbon, don't know how often or how well though

We'll either look classy on our season debut at home and ease past them, or we'll fall apart in horrific fashion after going a goal down and they'll romp home 3-0 again. Nah, it'll be 0-0 really.
