Multiple sources out there tonight (likely all working from the report by a Ukranian news agency) reporting that we have bid 15 million euros for this guy and that this is being considered. I'd guess that our offer has attracted the players attention more than the one made by Stoke, although who knows what his club think about the offer. I'd probably guess that they'd want at least another 5 million euros.

He's big, strong, fairly quick with good footwork. He seems to be able to score from the Townsend zone more often than Andros does and operates on the right side of the midfield.

Obligatory youtube vid.

Forget it ! For some reason, Eastern European and South American players will never make it in the PL, unless if they are in a big team full of big players.
Someone call Levy and tell him to hold off on that double bid for Suarez and Messi. And no one tell City that this guy Aguero blows. :D

Can someone refresh my memory where that little guy - I think he was called Modric or something - came from? I think he played with some others from his East European country and they all didn't do too badly...

Proper Spurs player. Get him in

Very flaky and we'll sell him to Italy for £5m in 18 months time?

I thought the whole thing about this summer is that we're not signing sexy players - they are all going to Liverpool and West Ham. We're signing more solid and sensible players instead now

As usual, another derogatory assumption just because he is a player you don't like.

Can you enlighten us mortals what's flaky about him? Does he suffer from eczema. psoriasis or some other skin condition? On what evidence do you make that remark?

Ummm I think that was a joke

I don't see how Liverpool are making "sexy" type players? Clyne, Milner and Benteke are solid players with premier league experience.

Ok Benteke was well over priced but i don't think he is a sexy type signing.

Erikiy Lamelanko imo.......our Argie would have a similar impact in the Ukranian league.

no thanks, would be just a sideways step, no improvement, not what we need

Isn't the question we should be asking be; is he an improvement on Townsend?

I haven't looked into which games the assists came but on the face of it, him creating the most assists in the Europa League last season gives us something to go on beyond the Ukrainian league.

Sounds promising.

I have seen reports that he can also play up front. Has anyone seen him play there?

I've never seen him play up front admittedly, but with his skill set he seems best suited as one of the three behind the striker. Maybe if we're struggling for strikers or just trying something different in a certain game situation, but I can't see him being a consistent striking option...

That was my impression too
