Just a bit of fun and a hypothetical situation (to gauge the varied wishes of the fans).

This is black and white and again as my last poll, no fence sitting :D

10 years - a trophy a season (Europa, FA Cup, League Cup) or top 4 (not champs) and ECL every season?

If no issue (perhaps it may provide an insight into thoughts); how long have you supported Spurs?

And I know winning the Europa means ECL - ignore that part :p

As CL is a means to challenge for trophies i don't see how anyone could choose qualifying for the CL every season over winning actual trophies...

CL brings with it the players and mentality that would allow us to compete with the best teams in our league for trophies. Winning a trophy represents fleeting glory and not necessarily progression.

I'm sick and tired of modern football. All I've done since the season ended is read through my old newspaper cutting scrapbooks I made as a kid, all my programmes from 1992 and watched my old videos from around the same time.

I know I'm in a minority but I'd love to watch us week in week out from 1992 again purely because football was played by men and sky hadn't totally ruined football.

I enjoyed our CL season immensely but give me a similar season as this where were challenging and an FA Cup final like I'm watching now any time.

Would I like to look back on ten years of winning minor trophies at Wembley but failing every year to get 4th. Trophies won by the likes of Swansea Birmingham, Wigan and Portsmouth in the last ten year.

Or watch ten years of Spurs playing big European nights against the best in Europe just missing out in the Champion's League semis and finals. Tottenham just losing out on the final day of the title race. All the while playing youth teams in the domestic cups and using them as a way to bring through homegrown Tottenham players that are lauded all over Europe.

The Fa Cup and League Cup are important only to the teams still in the competition. No one else cares. Its a day out for the fans and nothing more. I watched that Fa Cup program on the BBC fronted by Lineker the other night and I didn't even remember that 'Gerrard final' or Wigan winning.

I disagree the "no one else cares" and the voting here should be evidence of that (been 50/50).

Genuine question and one that dawned on me watching the final - how were the goon fans about being in the ECL but 'Last Time Wenger Won a Trophy'?

If they win the FA Cup tonight - will I be jealous? Do I miss the open-top buses, the Spurs fans in their cars - driving down the local roads hooting and cheering? Hell yes! Unless you win the ECL, how do you celebrate? And I miss Chas and Dave :p

Oh and the FA Cup being dis valued due to the ECL - that's a shame, it's a trophy we enjoyed winning the most (along with Villa funnily enough) until money really took over.

And the Europa is valued by other countries and players - just seems we're a bit snobbish about it on these isles.

do teams still do open top buses for the fa cup?

I don't remember the goons doing it last year, it was Wigan before that and they don't have roads up there do they?

I've been a Tottenham fan since the late 1980s, back when we'd won the FA Cup more times than any other club and had picked up European silverware in 3 consecutive decades (putting us 2nd on the all time list for English teams).

So my preference would be for a decade load of those glorious trophies; not nearly so fussed about the Consolation Cup tho and would probably enjoy us getting to the QF stage of the CL every season just as much.
