General Transfer Rumour Discussion Thread

i see we are being linked with a new name for the left wing forward role.........Moses Simon, 19 year old Nigerian at Gent in Belgium

Here is a vid
Don't like to judge any player on a you-tube clip but he looks pacy, confident, two-footed and seems to be able to beat a player on either side so certainly has promise.

Looks like Depay is playing the media fluffy bunnies cuddling yourself out to who pays the most game currently

I think it was in the ANC in saw Moses Simon - he does look good. Looks like he has end product and a bit of tactical discipline too, something that Nigerian players often suffer with.

I am all for signing a few players from Europe each year but I would not pay any where near 20m for someone who has played a handful of games, the owner saying about the prices we pay in this country can go do one. This kid might become huge but he could also end up cack. A few of mill at most.

I agree with Chich.

I remember reading the same/seeing Youtube vids about some wonderkid called Coulibaly....

I think there is a rather large difference here in that these videos are of the player playing top level football in Belgium, whereas Couliably's videos were of him playing youth football which is very different.

I think that's just bluster from the owner. I would imagine that a bid of around half that amount would probably see the player go.

coulibalys video consisted of him playing one game. I believe he scored 4 in that game. That was it.

Like Finney said, Moses is playing in the Belgium first division, a division where Coulibaly wouldnt even get games (I believe hes currently playing in Serie D!?) - and he's also played senior games for the Nigerian team. He's the exact type of player we should be looking at and what has served us well in the past.

Was just reading that on train - says Southampton had scouted and earmarked Stambouli as a replacement for Schneiderlin last summer in case he left, (before we signed him) - could explain that transfer i guess

Hard to disagree with any of those nine players that are predicted to be offloaded this summer. Feels like we have a squad overhaul every other year.

Why hasn't Sherwood come out and claimed this one, like the others. The one where he took all the credit when he signed him lol

I love a good swap deal in the tabloids.

London Evening Standard saying we're in for Schneiderlin again this Summer, with Townsend or Stambouli being offered to sweeten the deal.

Whether or not Schneiderlin is worth £20m+ he would provide an upgrade to our midfield and I believe would make a very good partnership with Bentaleb.

Schneiderlin would be perfect (again).

Seems that it might just be plausible too. Arsenal might be in for him, but probably the only big team that will possibly make a move for him?

We MUST buy from the Premier League. Weaken our fellow teams at the same time.

Article also mentions Arsenal cooling their interest because of the emergance of Coquelin - which would make sense

No quotes in the whole piece ofcourse...

What are the general thoughts on here about us being in for Mirallas? Would he be a better option than Chadli as our left sided attacking midfielder? Isn't he also a bit of a lazy, Prima Donna type who scores his fair share of eye catching goals but doesn't necessarily put the team first?

But that would mean Poch knew who he was and maybe even asked for. That can't be.

Schneiderlin was the right signing before the emergence of Mason. Now they are too similar, in both style and quality, to warrant us paying £20m for MS.

If there's any swap deal with Southampton, I can see it being Rodriguez and Dembele both linking up with their former managers.

I think Schneiderlin is a better player than Mason. I also think that if we were to sign Schneiderlin he would probably drop into the slightly deeper role and we could then move Bentaleb forward into Mason's role.
