Cheatski are still scum

I know a couple of Chelsea season ticket holders, a father and son and they are ok people who you can have a decent discussion about football with. I guess what I am tryingf to say is that all clubs have some idiots who support them. I think in these situation these people should be named and shamed so their friends family and people they work with see their true colours. Would these so called Chelsea fans chanted that at Drogba as he scored the champions league winner? What utter cretins.

Why do Chelski have a seemingly higher proportion of racist scumbags following them? I know every club has them but Chelski seem to still be plagued with tgose whose attitudes might be described as "stuck in the 1970s".

What is the history and background to this? Why do Chelski have a similar history with this sort of thing that seems more akin to Millwall?

I'd be interested to hear what the more "experienced" posters have to say about why they think this is

The same reason chavs wear Burberry because they think it makes them look classy.

Chelsea had a hardcore of racists back in the day, these people usually builder trades people( I am not looking down on them as I did that work myself) a lot grew up with outdated racist views, then they had children and their children grew up with similar views. They think it is a way of sticking things up to the political elite. They are wrong, as much as I think the working class may have been screwed over the answer is not to be racist.

I also believe these people probably have low intelligence and education levels, I think people like to stick to their own so when someone who is getting into football and holds racist views they would probably be attracted to a club where fans have similar views, I would hazard a guess they might even meet up at EDL marches.

Me, my personality is one created from a very working class background with also low education level, the difference is I had an amazing father who instilled a hard work ethic in me and told me to not blame others for my failings but to work to achieve for myself, I also inherited and absolute hatred of government from him, hence why I hate the EU.

So I imagine it stems from the 70's and 80's when they had a lot of racists and those guys childrens now go plus other racist scum look around and think it is fun to act like Neanderthals and start supporting them.

If I were not a Tottenham fan, I would start supporting us because I love how we moan even when we win, I love how we are a negative bunch who when things are going well we wait for the blip. Tottenham suit my personality. Chelsea as much as they might try and get the glory chasers and middle class parents taking their children to a game, will always be the club of scummy racists.

Thanks. Appreciate the reply.

I would still ask why would Chelski attract racists more then say other London clubs in similar areas? Those things you say about racists creating more racist children who follow in their footsteps: why can that not be said for other London clubs (besides Millwall lol) from those times onwards? Why did Chelski retain the racist elements more than other London clubs?

I went to school for a couple of years near the ground and know that whilst Fulham has some very expensive/posh bits there are also some deprived and run-down bits including large estates - just like many parts of Inner London. Just like Tottenham, Highbury, Plaistow, Shephards Bush etc.

So, what is it about Chelski?

heres one opinion (which generally adds to japanesegardenlover's thoughts):

The issue here goes way beyond football. Is it a case of chelsea fans being racists or rather that racists become chelsea fans... I think its more the latter... Its more a cultural issue i.e. racists are in areas that unintelligent. What strikes me as strange though, and this may be a historical issue, is that Chelsea and where it is situated is an affluent area who arent really racist and if you ever go on a night out in Kings Road/Fulham or Kensington you will see that. So where the fudge have Chelsea got these fans from

To be fair to Chelsea (said through gritted teeth) I think the club has handled this well, they have banned the fans they have found quickly and will be banned for life
Have to disagree with this. It was practically the very least they could do and the sort of auto-reaction that goes without saying.

It's no lose for Chelsea. Come down on a few nameless faceless supporters and pretend that you're being serious about all this.

What would have been worthy of applause would be the club acknowledging it has a small minority of supporters who are racists and the club will be working proactively to get rid of them. That the club doesn't welcome or want racist supporters. (And I'm including antisemitism in this too).

But they don't have a leg to stand on here.

Have indeed appealed the red card for Matic

If the succeed with this, we might as well give up with football

Should get an extra 1 match ban for frivolous appeal

Don't forget that one of the Chelsea fans identified was at a £30,000 a year private school. He also posted pictures of himslef with Nigel Farage.

I was under the impression you cannot appeal straight red cards. I hope Levy is on the case with his legal team.

lol Ashley Barnes is walking away scot free. No action by FA

Its down to a number of issues and those issues stalk both West Ham and Chelsea in terms of their core support. Both clubs have a scumbag element that has evolved through the passage of time and generally from the 70s/80s when the rise of the hooligan was rife and political change was at its most radical if you like. If you look at the make up of Chelsea fans and for that matter, West Ham fans, they have a correlation in that they live in areas that tend to be pretty much non multi cultural. Now, whether you agree with multi culturalism or not is a different argument entirely but what I would say is that if you live in an environment where you never see anyone different and it is bred into you that anyone who looks different is scum then it doesn't take a genius to work out that you are going to grow up with very strange attitudes to other races and religions. The political landscape at the time also saw a number of these characters unemployed, hating the world and having too much time on their hands which when thrown together is a dangerous roostertail.

Stamford Bridge and Upton Park were throghout the 80s/90s a recruiting ground for Combat 18 and the National Front hence the typical and stereotypical appearance of a person who supports one of those clubs. A meathead, trashy white male who looks and behaves in a manner that is devoid of any common sense, one who lives in a white surburbia with little or no contact with anyone/anything that is different to them. For the record, I am a white male from Inner City London. Why do you think it is that these are the only two clubs we ever have issues with regarding racism or inappropriate chanting? Because these are the only two scumbag clubs that have a real element that is much larger than the normal small minority that all clubs have that we could all do without. They will dress it up and say they are a family club who have changed but its all crap. You go to Stamford Bridge now and among all the prawn sandwich munchers and day trippers you can still easily spot the absolute numpties from back in the day that now have kids that are following the same thought processes.

The inviting of the guy from Paris who was abused was just a PR stunt. If they were really serious and empathetic to the hurt that was caused then they would have come to arranagent in private and in a game unrelated to Paris Saint Germain. By inviting him purely to that game and doing it all so publically they are just trying to curry favour and spin the scenario to a point that people forget what occurred and just talk about what a nice gesture it is.

In closing, Chelsea will always be a nasty club with nasty supporters. It is in their blood and because they are so inbred with their views and ways it won't change anytime soon.
