Foxcatcher was good. Creepy story. Well worth a watch.

Just watched it. If you are going to watch it, bear in mind its very much a true story. Without knowing that I found it a little slow, and it took two turns to watch. But it stays with you. And when you look the DuPont family on YouTube....what a bunch of inbreed freaks.

Whiplash is head and shoulders the better film. Low budget but original and on tempo!

Looking forward to seeing Boyhood at some stage this week. Foxcatcher was brilliant. The tension created by Carrell on screen was very unnerving. I thought Mark Ruffalo was brilliant and a surprisingly good performance by Channing Tatum although I can see why he was overlooked. At times it appeared the best opportunities for him to shine were limited by how some of his scenes were filmed. maybe so he wasn't too exposed. It keeps you on edge throughout even when you know the story which is a great bit of film making. American Sniper was good, well filmed, Cooper was very good and of course it will do very well in the US. It is A. By Clint Eastwood. B. Contains Bradley Cooper C. Is about an 'American Hero' D. Is about War. The best thing with the two latter films is to take them at face value because they do use a fair amount of artistic license and if you read into the backgrounds it does diminish the impact a little.

Saw 'Nightcrawler' the other day. Enjoyed it, but it was pretty predictable, and nothing too spectacular, really.

'Force Majeure' was great though! Swedish movie by an excellent director (Ruben Östlund).

I was slightly disappointed with Night Crawler - there is something about Rene Russo though (she looks like a man) but what a body - watch Thomas Crown Affair haha

Dumb and Dumber too was pretty brick and not a patch ont he first one.

Ill be watching Birdman tonight or perhaps Theory of Everything... although Wrong Cops looks funny

Foxcatcher was good but really slow. I thought Carrell was very good, although it might have just been the make-up..

Stewart has had some really hot guests recently...Anne Hathaway, Sienna Miller, Julianne Moore & i suppose Jennifer Aniston at a stretch...

John Wick - very good mindless movie... reminds me of Transported in that its all action and not really much of a plot. Enjoyed it.

Fading Gigolo - meh but Sharon ston elooking hot and so does Sofia Vergara

Perks of being a Wallflower - I had recorded it from Film4 - really loved this and Emma Watson did look super cute in it but loved the whole movie and soundtrack was good.

Seen Theory of Everything and Imitation Game recently - both fantastic movies with great acting performances. Both 8/10s

Saw 'Birdman' today without knowing what to expect what so ever (had not read anything about the movie, except hearing that it got rave reviews - never read the comic either) - thought it was rather boring. The whole Birdman-aspect of it just seemed ridiculous to me, but I guess if you're a fan or up on the cultural code, you'll enjoy that. Some good acting and some nice filming, but just not a very engaging story, in my opinion. 5/10.

Agreed. Though Theory of Everything was a hard watch, well it was always going to be but still hard to watch nonetheless. Enjoyed Imitation Game slightly more.

Really hard to pick between Michael Keaton and Eddie Redmayne for best actor. I would have no problem with either winning it.

I can't see past Eddie Redmayne for the Oscar, he deserves it ahead of Michael Keaton. Michael Keaton's performance was very good but Eddie Redmayne's was a transformation.

Have any of you lot been dragged to see 50 Shades ????

My girlfriend is going with her pals this friday, it's making shedloads of cash at the box office it seems

Yep I have. It wasn't that bad tbh. The dialogue was cringey but I've seen worse films. Wouldn't see it again though. I'll drag her to see The Avengers or Star Wars to make up for it.

Thankfully mine has better taste (which goes without saying tbf ;) )

So er Frank LeBeouf is an actor now then and had a small role in Theory of Everything - did not know that!

 I thought that one of the actors looked a LOT like Frank LeBeouf!! I just thought it must be a lookalike.

I didn't even clock the similarity when watching it - someone at work mentioned it in passing and i thought he was on a wind up! Apparently he does a lot of stage acting in Paris and is now getting movie roles. Fair play
