The Mason-Bentaleb Partnership

They were a bit off colour last night I thought (especially Bentaleb). I also thought that in general Liverpool's passing through our press was better than ours through theirs.

The problem with our squad currently though is that we don't really have a great option to replace either of them if they're not having a good game.

No, you get a ban after 5 yellow cards up to a certain point of the season. Then you get a ban after ten. We are beyond the cut-off point for bans for five yellows now.

I thought the rule had changed and it was 7 bookings now (not 5) and April was the cut off?

IMO last night showed just how important it will be to sell Paulinho, Capoue and bring in some quality to compete with these two. Having two inexperienced players means we need some experience alongside them to coach and to also add some more stability when needed. Some of gutter boy's chat about having those two as our nailed on pairing for years to come is pretty premature.

I am a big big fan of Mason but overall I think he has struggled since he came back from injury (compared to his earlier performances) and has been more up and down in his performance level. He has never played this amount of games in a season before and I do think that he might fade between now and the end of the season - I expect him to be stronger for this season and it wouldn't surprise me if he took his game to the next level next season but we need to be careful about running him into the ground. I think Bentelab will have bad games as well but you can see how much tougher and mature last season and the WC has made him.

For me if we could add someone like Scheiderlin and have Stambouli as part of a quartet, that would be a great midfield base for us to work with. I think Carroll may be sold, but we have Winks, Onomah, Velkovic in reserve should we face an injury crisis.

We could have Holtby back as well, unless HSV can purchase him at the end of the loan.

Your right although Dele Ali may well be a great option next season and step up like Bentelab has

We also above Carroll who imo whisk be an upgrade on Poorlinho and Crapoue

our dynamic duo is chalking up some serious stats.
