OMT*******TOTTENHAM VS Ar5ena1***********

Dembele should start this match. He's really turning it around, is in good form and has earned his place in the first 11 after convincing the manager of his worth.

I was an advocate of him in a deeper position, but using his ability to beat a man in the final third could be devastating combined with the movement of Eriksen, Kane and Lamela. The ability to ghost past players is rare in football these days, particularly in a player as powerful and big as Dembele. He's perfect for the pressing and his excellent defensive shielding gives us another option if we need to defend a lead or switch tactics.

I really hope Poch continues to coax him out of his half slump and keeps him on this upward curve. Not many midfielders have his skill set and when he's on form he makes us a better side.

Vs the Scum I'd have him in the advanced role along with Lamela and Eriksen. He's earned it.

Paulinho??? Really?? Are you mad??

Respectful of the opinion, but i'd be really interested to understand what you think he can bring to the game Sat, given the quality of the opponent and the fact you've also put Chadli Demb and Eriksen in there too!!!??

For me, whilst he's last few sub appearances haven't been quite as atrocious as the early days, he is still too much of a liability to play in a central midfield role. It puts far too much pressure in Bentaleb, particularly as he's been away from the squad for past few weeks!!
Mason will have the bit between his teeth given its an NLD, more so than Pauli i believe. We need someone who isn't scared to put a foot in and rough it up a bit, possibly Stambouli even…but def NOT Pauli.

Like to hear your rationale...

I think Saturday will come down to the keepers.

We have more of a something out of nothing goal threat with eriksen and Kane, they are likely to be clinical if we make a mistake that falls to Sanchez.

They are certainly playing more solid in the bigger away games. The question is will Wenger see us as that kind of threat or not? going by last seasons game when they sat back and hit us on the break this could be a lot more like the normal home games. This gives Mertesaker some cover for his pace, and they have some speed up front in Walcott, Sanchez and Oxlaide- Chamberlain.

Should be a really tight game. We are going to need creativity around their box but also discipline in the transition to not get suckered in by their pace on the counter.

Im going with Dier in this one as im scared of Fazio playing up against their nippy tricky forwards. He has penalties in him. And they always seem to get penalties against us. Also im retaining some of the midfield that has done well for us.

--------------------------Lloris-------------------------------

Walker--------Dier------------Vertonghen--------Rose

-------------Benteleb---------Mason---------------------
-----------------------Dembele-----------------------------

----Lamela--------------------------------Eriksen----------
------------------------Kane----------------------------------

Kind of a 4-3-3 to 4-2-3-1 which worked well for us the last two games. Just Benteleb coming back in.

completely agree with you. he has played very well the last few games. Im a big fan of Dembele and I dont want us to see him waste the talent he has. The position Poch has given him seems to get the best out of his ability to beat a man plus also help to shield the defence and retain possesion.

No doubt Wellbeck & Snachez will be fit and raring to go come Saturday lunchtime, don't care if they are really, were good enough to beat them

Oh i see. I think playing Dier would be a bit of a gamble at this point. Whilst he has more pace, i'm not sure if he has enough aggression and the aerial capability to repel Giroud. Between Dier and Vertonghen i'd be worried that whilst they would be better on the floor, between them they'd not have enough to deal with Giroud from set-pieces - and i think Giroud will be a BIG threat in that regard.

I'd be more inclined to play Dier against Liverpool actually

It's my birthday on Saturday, one bro and some of my mates are going to be watching it down the pub, and another bro and a few of my other mates are going to be at the game with me. Had a dilemma, and was swaying towards watching it down the pub, but then thought it will probably never fall on my birthday again in my lifetime so I'm going to the game. Not sure why I wanted to watch it down the pub with other goons.......

Don't you want us to lose anyway, so Poch can get sacked eventually?

I understand what you mean. But do you really see Giroud as that much of an aerial threat? Le Scum are hardly known for scoring a lot from set pieces or for throwing the ball up to their forwards. They are more likely to attack us with intricate play, 1-2's in and around the box and pace.

I would say weighing it up that we are more likely to receive a bigger threat from that kind of attacking play than balls into the box. Also Dier is pretty tall and no slouch in the air. Neither is Verts. So I think the ability to deal with their players on the ground outweighs the aerial threat from them.
