George Galloway...

Yossarian

Steve Hodge
...has put a rocket up the arse of the LibLabCon.

While I dislike the bloke immensely he has done democracy in the UK a power of good by demonstrating that there are options besides the main 3 parties.

WORST THREAD EVER...

I'd have at least given you a cookie for Killroy-Silk. But George Galloway. He's not just a clown, he's a hypocritical ****.

Hmm, Bradford....full of Muslims..... single issue Iraq.... not exactly representative of the UK as a whole and a complete one off. Whether you like him or not he is charismatic, and he chose one of the few constituencies in the country where he could really leverage the muslim vote. Not really a bloody nose to Lab/con/lib in my view

it is in terms of vote swing. the tories lost nearly 25% of their share since 2010, and Labour lost a safe seat, safe since the 70s when Labour was crumbling to bits. Both the major parties suffered massive losses away from them, and it was a total shock as people were telling the exit polls the vote was alot closer.

It is a major shock, and even more salt in the wound is that Labour sacked Galloway and now hes nailed two safe seats for Respect, an unknown party with no candidates and no money to speak of.

blaming it on the muslims is a bit unfair, like they exist in a vacumn. some of them might even have been born here and watch the television.

I wasn't blaming it on the Muslims... they make up a high proportion of the Bradford West electorate, and therefore the one party that majored on the single issue that was close to their hearts got their vote. No blame attached at all. Tories would never win it, down 25%? What from 20 votes to 15 votes this time? Labour are more rudderless at the moment than the government, so maybe they need a re-think. But seriously, this result is a one off... In my opinion, Respect won't get any other seats in the UK before the next election

Saw some of his campaigning online it was Iraq this Iraq that really don't know how that is enough to capture people's hearts and why British born Muslims are so passionate about Iraq? There are hundreds of Nigerian Christians being murdered every month but you can bet your bottom dollar that ain't gonna make me vote for the 'stop killing Christians' party

He's a fire brand and egotist and found his audience... Nothing more.

You're right though, there are bigger issues. I honestly dread the day the real figures come out from Zimbabwe.

It is a kick up the arse for both political partys wheather they want to admit it or not, and he is spot on about Blair and his illegal war.

The Nigerian Christians are not being killed by the UK Army in what is technically an illegal war, if they were I imagine the "stop killing christians" party would win a few votes.

Not from me they wouldn't far more important things to worry about like nhs economy etc when I'm deciding who to vote for? My main point of argument was more why do so many people of south Asian origin care so much about Iraq?

Not looking for a row (more than happy to be educated) and I accept the idea of news management as well (aka propaganda) but I don't half hear a lot of reports of Muslim on Muslim atrocities to this day coming out of Iraq.

An illegal war, now there is an oxymoron.

And this whole thing was going on long before the war.

I don't understand why we get involved to be honest. We vote these fudgers in to protect us (amongst other things). To the British PM the life of ONE British person should outweigh the lives of every single non-British person on the planet. Why are we wasting young British lives trying to interfere with countries that have the mental age of Britain in the middle ages? Beggars belief.

More important, who gives a brick if they did happen? It's horrid, no doubt about it, but it's not up to us to be the world's police force. Sure there will be some fudging macarons out there who believe John Lennon's song is some sort of mantra and that human race is a higher power and we can all live in peace, but deep down even them liberal fudging idiots know it's not true. So stay out of it, focus what's going on at home and maybe eventually other countries will also outgrow religion and the nonsense will stop.

Simple, we have to kiss the arse of America. They have this stupid notion they are the worlds police force and everyone has to do what they say or else, and we thanks to our gutless leaders bend over and do their bidding.

Good point.

no
actually its gonad*s

an illegal war - since when were any wars legal?

what a load of brick, the whole issue of iraq was to do with restoring the right to self determination for the people of Iraq, as it is in Afghanistan and freedom from the opression of a non elected leadership, who rule through bullets and repression

some of you people need to wake up.
