***** OMT TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs. Hull City ********

So dont send a bloke off for kicking out as it ruins the game as a spectacle, the lino shouldve have got involved !! WTF you cretin Bruce

I'm all for giving this a go (we can't get much worse) but he's gonna need a proper partner, maybe 2 of them, in there with him. A technically good player like Eriksen will look great against 10 men who have dropped back to their own 18 yard box and have no attacking intent. But most sides in this league are going to have 11 men and they are going to get about us because they know we are weak. I'm not sure Eriksen can handle that -- maybe he can, but just don't expect miracles from him is all I'm saying.

4-3-3. We should have switched to that long ago.

Eriksen has been brilliant since they went down to 10.

He was. Him and Lamela hogged the possession since the sending off.

I'd like to give them both 100% credit for stepping up their game, and they did to be fair, but I actually think Hull stopped pressing and immediately sat back. As soon as that happened we bossed them all over the park. Spurs really like a extra second or two on the ball and we look great. Deny us that time and we buckle.

Also can the person pumping Steve Bruces head up stop please. It's gonna blow!!!

No controversy for me, its just like Beckham on Simeone years ago. stupid from Ramirez

Thought eriksen and Mason were superb. Lennon and Chiriches were the right calls, gave us a proper right flank at last

I honestly felt that towards the end of the first half we started to play into our shape. A couple of moments where Eriksen and Lamela were both breaking through with pace with Dier and Davies getting down the flanks. The bigger problem early on imo was that Dier was not far enough up the pitch when we needed him to be, whilst he and Lamela also failed to communicate properly seeing him stepping out when not needed.

There is also a big problem with us playing out from the back. At times we broke Hull down when they attacked only for us to be too clever and end up playing the ball back to a Hull player. Dembele was guilty of taking too many touches and turning into trouble when deep too, whilst Lamela was guilty of doing the same further up field.

Poch though deserves credit for bringing Lennon on. People on here have wrecked him for the bad changes, well this time he made a good one (two in fact if you count removing Dier for Chiriches). Lennon for me comes second for MOTM behind Eriksen. He came on and made a lot of very intelligent runs to pull their full back in field, in turn leaving space for Eriksen to play the ball in to for Chirches. Without his introduction, I doubt we would've looked as potent as we did.

NB: Ramirez deserved the red. It was a petulant kick out and not some sort of late tackle. Had one of ours done that today, I'd have no doubt that the Sky pundits would've been calling it justified.

Steve Bruce and his comments are a disgrace. They kicked everything above grass height. What about Livermore? Why wasn't there a booking for free kick that lead to the goal?

I am not expecting miracles, don't worry. And I agree he needs suitable partners. But we have have to start somewhere. Just like Harry got lucky when he was forced to pair Hudd and Modric in the middle, Eriksen plus the right partner or partners could be our springboard. I would like to see him with a proper defensive cover.

Player does something stupid. Ref ruins game by applying the laws of the game. Comments like that are disrespectful really. The refs aren't there to make the game flow, but to make sure it's played by the rules.

Totally deserved red card, he kicks out at dembele and then verts. They were lucky to finish with 10 men. If that had Liverpool Or Manchester United then sky would be saying it was a red card.
Their goal was a once a season fluke. We weren't as bad as everyone is painting it. Dm and cm needs looking at tho

Agree with all of that. It was a red card in 1998 World Cup and that part of the law hasn't changed.

Stoke sorry Hull tried to beat us not by playing football so ironic that they lost by the rules applied clinically.

We were lucky in that it was a red card often not given, but it was, we pressed and pressed and got the winner we deserved like last time.

Still a long long way from being a convincing top 4 contender but who is? Southamptons challenge won't last, Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal all have dire problems like us. It's a case of who can get their act together first.

Let's judge poch when he gets his first choice full backs in this team. Walker /Yedlin would make a huge difference. We need width, when we have it we are much better.

Having said that when we are attacked we concede. That is still a big issue

Mason superb? whattttt?

he was poor before the sending off just like most of the other players.

Ryan Mason completed 90/98 passes for Spurs vs. Hull - 92% pass accuracy, 4 chances created. Shows determination and passion every week, is a fighter. All we need to do now is partner him with Stambouli and we'll win the league.

Mason was excellent, always with a picture in his head, as soon as he gets the ball he pops it off to someone in space, nearly always a forwards pass.

Compare that to all the other players who receive it, take a touch, look up, take a touch, look up and pass 5 yards backwards.

But my GHod, how can Pochettino continue with such a poor, narrow system?

We were awful until the sending off, totally bossed as usual.

We inch forwards and get it into feet, just to pass it straight back again.

Their keeper was bored stiff.

I would like to see some width via 442 or 433 and for Spurs to sell Chiriches Dembele Paulinho Soldado at the first opportunity as they are bad footballers.

2 points off 4th.

we're going to get relegated.

Does not fit the current narrative. Please refrain from such upward looking action and return to feeling sorry for are self's and not caring if we score winning goals in the last few mins.

Hull manager Steve Bruce on BBC: "For me the Premier League is the spectacle it is because of the honesty and ferociousness of it. It was petulant by Ramirez but it is not violent conduct. Vertonghen goes down as if he has been pole-axed.

"Vertonghen's actions are there for everyone to see but does he have to go over like that? I would be really disappointed if I was going to do something like that. The linesman 10 yards away and there is a difference between a flick and violent conduct.

"It spoils the game, we have lost the game on a decision.

"We were more like ourselves, we were excellent in the first half,. The whole game changed the moment the guy got sent off."
