*** TOTTENHAM Vs CHELSKI OFFICIAL OMT***

@ KD and Steff

Big words from both of you.

If we win with a 442, two Spurs fans on the entire planet will be disgusted...the rest will be going f#cking nuts. Oh well.

Id be a little concerned about Walker, as VDV is awful at helping out defending....Sandro would have to come over all the time, pulling us out of shape a bit.

But I think thats how Id line up too to be honest.

Unless Lennon is fit.

Would be a miracle if we won at Stamford bridge tomorrow playing 442.

Can't see us getting a result because of our total inability to defend corners/set pieces.
Just look at the last few games.....Arsenal get three points from a goal scored from a corner. We concede from a set piece again! Chelsea score against City from a corner,oh and against Napoli form a corner, actually wasn't it two goals?. We concede the first goal against Utd from a corner, that basically cost us the game.
Thr trend is there, our rivals are scoring from set pieces, we are not. Even more importantly, we are conceding, and looking like conceding from every single set piece.

The amount of goals from set pieces play a huge part in the game and a large percentage of goals scored/conceded are from set plays. We are at a massive disadvantage from this, it's costing us big time!

Looking at tomorrow, Kaboul will probably be our only player that is decent in the air. They could have Terry,Cahill,Luiz,Drogba, possibly Torres playing. How are we going to deal and contain them at set-pieces?
We also have a keeper that refuses to come and claim or punch aerial balls.Even set pieces floated in to the six yard box from the half-way line. I honestly would have preferred Gomes for this game and the Stoke game.At least he will come and punch and relieve the pressure.

I think a side bet of Chelsea to score from a set-piece or possibly score more than one goal from a set-piece is easy money.

We might not actually get outplayed, we might have our share of possession but if we can't defend set-pieces then we aren't going to win many football matches.

Not the point..basically there are two fans who have put their neck on the line and accused the manager of deliberately sabotaging our season based on tommorow's formation.

No backtracking from that really.

Parker should be nowhere near the Chelsea box. He's had a poor run of games which I believe coincides with him deciding to bomb up the pitch a lot either under instruction from Redknapp or something he has decided to do himself. Just stay back and mind the shop.

I'd like to see something like this, maybe drop VdV, put Modric where VdV is and Livermore where you've got Modric. Parking the bus a little, but if it gets us a point who cares.

Managed to get a corporate ticket in amongst the cretins for tomorrow, no idea what result it will be. Got ?ú5 on an Scum/Scum double and a hat-trick in our game

"I'm not saying he's purposely trying to get us to lose or anything stupid".

It's sad that you appear incapable of reading. You're usually a poster i disagree with but generally like but please just read what i'm saying properly.

I am reading it, but you are basically saying if we go there with a 442, he is not our manager, he has his own agenda and is putting Spurs second.

All Im saying is that if we go there with a 442 and win, or maybe dont win, but play well and look good, you have made very heavy claims that there is no coming back from.

I dont see the conspiracy, thats all.

What is the implication here? Harry is experimenting with our side as part of his Euro preparations and/or he simply doesnt give a brick?

Redknapp will never do that and nor should he. He's our biggest goal threat when Ade is out.

A point would be a good result. That would leave us in the same boat with Chelsea still 5 points behind us, and at worst, 3 points behind the scum by the end of tomorrow.

I have a horrible feeling Terry is going to have another blinder tomorrow and possibly score, more than likely from a set piece.

And they have at least 3 players who are great at attacking set pieces. Wouldn't surprise me if we conceded at least 2 goals from set pieces tomorrow.

That's where the smart money is going.

Can't we go 5-3-2 or 3-5 2? Three centre halfs to try and combat the aerial/set-piece threat and then we would have the width to counter the loss of Lennon and avoid being to narrow. Plus, we would still have three in the middle of the park, matching them up there too.
Surely Harry has thought about this formation, hasn't he?
Only problem with this is who to play higher up the pitch, Ade (if fit) and who? Can't leave Bale out, can we afford to leave Vdv out? If Ade doesn't make it, could we not try Bale with Vdv behind?
Take a punt, if we don't we will probably lose anyway.

Thinking back to when Robbo was in goal for us, a corner for the opposition was as good as a penalty. We have been poor at defending them for some time despite having different managers, players and tactics.

He shouldn't even consider leaving VDV out. He's the player who is most likely to get a goal and win us the game.

I would play a 4-2-3-1 with Sandro in the side to give us some extra steel and height.

I would prefer VDV to play too.
Sandro would help slightly but still might struggle dealing with some of their taller players.

Just another reason why we desperately need Ade fit.

Oh, and yes we were terrible from corners when Robbo was in goal.
I was going to add that earlier, that Friedel leaves his line less than any other keeper, with the possible exception of Robinson.
I don't think it's a coincindence that our set-piece defending has gone to brick.

No way have i ever claimed to be ITK but got a little snippet today by chance. Was in Scotland today for a family funeral, and my dad introduced me to someone there who was a scout at hearts when Joe Jordan was there, and who also done scouting in Scotland for ourselves. He's big pals with Joe Jordan and spoke to him this morning. He got told Adebayor has trained all week (think thats common knowledge) and that he's definitley fit to play tomorrow. I asked about Lennon as I heard he's been training, he said he has but we wont risk him tomorrow as we aren't convinced he's 100%. Suppose this is backed up that Defoe tweeted he's at a hotel with the team watching Sport Relief, and my friend has been at a pub in Chigwell tonight where Huddlestone has been with Lennon. Not groundbreaking stuff, but got quite excited with a little bit of information earlier!

Nervous about the game, but looking forward to it all the same. Massive day for us, fingers crossed we go there and do the business

Harry Redknapp feels Tottenham could be at a disadvantage against Chelsea because their foreign players do not grasp the history and importance of what a London derby means to the club.

The London rivals meet on Saturday lunchtime in a crucial match in the battle for UEFA Champions League qualification.

But it would be a huge game for supporters regardless of the teams' respective positions, as they have enjoyed a simmering rivalry ever since both clubs were established and local bragging rights are always at stake.

Redknapp admits the history will be lost on most of his players, though, as they have not grown up around football in the capital, unlike Chelsea stalwarts John Terry and Frank Lampard.

"If I said to Benoit (Assou-Ekotto) we have not won at Chelsea for 20 years, he wouldn't have a clue. He probably doesn't even know we are playing Chelsea tomorrow until we tell him later on," Redknapp said.

"He won't look at the fixtures. He will turn up and say: 'what time is the coach tomorrow gaffer?'. And that is it. He will be here, but he won't be sure if we were going to Arsenal or Chelsea.

Amazing

"All players are like that now, most of them. You still have some throwbacks, still I am sure there are maybe a couple of the lads at Chelsea.

"We have got a lot of foreign players here now and they get on with it. The history of the clubs is probably lost on them in all honesty.

"I was showing a picture of John White on the wall to Rafa (van der Vaart) the other day.

"I was telling him he was an amazing footballer that got struck by lightning but he didn't know.

"I come from the East End, we knew about the Arsenals, the Chelseas - we knew all the players.

"I don't think they do that now, not so much. And certainly the foreign players, they are not going to know.

"I think it's a disadvantage. If I asked Frank Lampard he would tell you all about players. He has been brought up with it. His dad would talk about Bobby (Moore) and all them players. It's rarer now I think."

Does he really need to be saying this brick?
