Re: European Elections, UKIP Tops British Polls

I know the average intelligence level of a UKIP supporter is low, but seriously they get both a name and a picture - if they cannot work out who they are voting for because of one different word ( not even a similar word!! ) then tough ****.

http://order-order.com/2014/05/26/exc-farage-calls-for-electoral-commission-to-be-abolished/

What an incredibly naive thing to say from an otherwise decent poster. Calling ukip voters low in intelligence is cheap and competely unfounded.

Actually I agree with MB. I'm yet to personally meet a UKIP supporter who hasn't been an utterly uninformed nob

we're ukip not quoted last week as admitting they struggled to attract the educated vote?

Ok. As a wise man once said I think ill refrain from talking politics on a football forum!!

Re: European Elections, UKIP Tops British Polls

I know that hit a sore spot Roy, but I am yet to find more than a handful of ukip supporters than can put together a rational analysis or their policies or a defense of the holes therein.

It's never anything other than that immigration being at fault for everything.

To be fair, you are one of the most articulate.

But I genuinely don't believe, based on experience, ukip supporters know more than one policy that isn't "stop immigration"

Re: European Elections, UKIP Tops British Polls

My sister married a non-EU citizen, and he doesn't have the right to live here, so I'm not sure where you are going with this?

Sitting on my porcelain throne using Fapatalk

He doesn't have to right to apply for temporary leave to remain on a spousal visa?
Where is he from out of interest

Re: European Elections, UKIP Tops British Polls

If they are skilled and trained and have the ability to work then I do not see why not. If they are to live and sponge of the state then no, they should only be allowed to claim basic unemployment should the other person (in this case the Brit) be working, none of this bull$hit live on benefits malarky.

I'm married to a non EU citizen and she did not have any recourse to public funds (inc job seekers allowance) whilst on temporary leave to remain.

After 3 years she was eligible to apply for indefinite leave to remain - which requires passing life in UK test, proving income and other domicile criteria.
(Not to mention a load of money!)

Immigration is NOT a cheap or easy thing. Its not some holiday to 'sponge off the state'.
Unfortunately many people get caught up in the propaganda to see the reality.

Re: European Elections, UKIP Tops British Polls

Further to the above, and I know many won't like this, but of the many immigrants I have met and worked with (Americans, Aussies, Canadians, Europeans, etc etc) - I have found them all to be hard working and to make a large contribution and effort to be part of the UK.
Something I think many Brits may want to consider instead

Re: European Elections, UKIP Tops British Polls

People want to punish Europe and Westminster for democratic failures that have been building up for several decades.

Ukip facilitates a protest to address these concerns head on.

Not much more to it.

Re: European Elections, UKIP Tops British Polls

So what will you do about it? That was the way the electorate voted, and that is that. All this talk smacks of sore loser. Untill labour can offer something then it won't change.

i think there is, i think generally, people are stupid

its not apathy or a considered political statement, its laziness, the general attitude amongst the british (of which sadly i am ashamed to be) is "**** that, someone else will do it, the world owes me a living"
