Harry Kane MBE

Kane is such an enigma. He finds space beautifully but he couldn't hit a barn door. When a striker finds difficulty in getting the ball out of his feet, as he does time and time again, it's not a exactly encouraging he'll make it as a PL player

Thought he was excellent tonight.

Definitely reckon that if Kane played for an Everton or a Southampton he would have had plenty more opportunities, but our squad is so deep that he's not really been given that much of a chance.

Would love to see him start every game left this season. Give him a run in the team while there's little pressure on us and lets see what he can do

I'd prefer to see Soldado playing every game.

Exactly, Kane played well tonight against a side so poor he should have had a hatrick (mostly his teammates fault)

Probably has done enough to keep his place as a bench option, but maybe if we could get a PL side to give him a run as a loan.

They're not exactly competing for the same spot though. Depends on where we want Ade really as he's the form player. If we want Ade leading the line then I'd play Kane, if we want Ade roaming than Soldado is the better option.

I guess also my expectations have been lowered somewhat this season but I also get enjoyment and satisfaction over watching academy lads playing for us. Realistically we don't have much left to play for so it's a decent opportunity for him to get some experience without pressure.

Or it's a good opportunity to try to get Soldado to play in to some form ahead of next season. I'd love to get Soldado ending the season scoring goals.

I know that doesn't mean that he'll be highly prolific next season but it sets him in good stead for next season.

Definitely agree with the logic but I think that to fix the Soldado problem, you need to fix the way the team performs for him. Throughout his career it's shown that if you give him service, he'll give you goals. We're just not giving him the service at the moment so I can't see the last six games wielding a lot of joy for him...

Soldado is a separate matter though! Thought Kane looked good tonight, I'd like to see more of him the rest of the season. :)

In the first half I despaired at him, I mean he had two very good chances to score and somehow managed to fail to find the goal. Second half Ade drifted about the place and the lad seemed to find some good positions, earned a penalty (wrongly not given imo) and scored a proper strikers goal. Maybe with more time he will get more but as as already been said his movement and hold up play is good, he just needs to find a goalscoring touch.

I've always called him a poor man's Peter Crouch, but he's definitely better than that. Looked more than decent tonight. Doubt that he'll ever really become a first team regular though. Typical Stoke/Sunderland/West Ham kind of player.

Showed a good strikers instinct tonight I thought. Needs to be a little more clinical but he definitely has a future at the club.

Played well today and deserved his goal. I wrote him off a couple of years ago to be honest, but this season he has looked much better when given the chance. I definitely want to see him at the club next season to see if he can improve further.

He does have a lot of football in him I think. He is quite an intelligent player, good at finding space and can play the game well in his head. I used to be convinced he didn't have the abilities though. But now he seems a bit quicker, although he will never be Flash Gordon, and technically he also seems to have improved. After he gained confidence after his first goal, his touch was excellent.

He played very well. Not convinced he's going to be the answer to our problems. Sunderland defenders were pretty shocking tbf. Deserves a chance though

The benefit of going to games means you can watch a particular player for the whole time and I was very impressed with his off the ball movement. He has been likened to Sheringham and I remember Brian Clough said to start with Sheringham was not clinical enough so I think Kane has a chance to improve in this area as he plays more and relaxes into the team.

It is often said that it takes a young player 50 games to feel settled. Would love to see him get a loan next season in the prem where he played every week.

good point regarding his movement tonight...noticed it to....he wasnt always quick minded with the ball at his feet but he was damn effective at pulling defenders away to make space and he worked had to make himself a passing option.
