Saudi Sportswashing Machine

superfaisty

Saudi Sportswashing Machine are turning into arsenal mark ii with all the french players they are buying. I know its not spurs related but what do people think about this strategy?

Will it save them from the drop? And where are they finding all this money?

I think they'll be safe this year and if they keep hold of some if these might do well next season.

But im also thinking whether this is a deliberate strategy by the chairman buy em in cheap sell them on for a profit as long as the team stays in the league? I really thought this year they'd push on but they've actually gone backwards- why is that?

Re: O/T Ha'why the lads?

Cabaye has been missing, that's cost them a few points, but right now they're "victims" of an owner that's put a lot of money in and got nothing to show for it and wants to make it back.

With the Ba sale they haven't really spent that much net this January. Considering that they also spent fairly little in the summer window their overall spend this season considering that they did really well last season and got EL football this year isn't really out of line at all.

They've had very good results with their strategy of buying from the continent in the last couple of years, seems to be a lot of value there and they've chosen to continue that strategy. Probably a good idea, they already had the players to secure their position in the PL, but strengthening their squad was needed.

Not sure what players they could have gotten from the PL for the kind of money they've spent this January, wouldn't have been particularly classy players that's for sure.

They have gone backwards, but the main point is that they really did perform very well last season. Regression to the mean this season, then combined with some trouble with injuries etc. Not the first time we've seen this kind of thing from a team, and probably not the last either.

I think they will bounce back this season and get a top half finish next year as long as they can keep hold of Cabaye and Tiote.

Re: O/T Ha'why the lads?

I still expect us to spend another £8-£12 million on a striker before the end of this window too.

Re: O/T Ha'why the lads?

Please, Saudi Sportswashing Machine dont deserve a thread of their own, they are not a local rival or in the same stratosphere as us..

Arsenal, Chelsea maybe even Liverpool yes but not Saudi Sportswashing Machine..

Stick it in the other teams thread

Re: O/T Ha'why the lads?

Oh and re the title 'Ha'way' = Mackem, 'Howay' = Geordie.

They're all gonna be on minimal wages. They'll be happy to go there on the same wages that they are on now, as there is a new 75% tax coming in France. If they stay in France their net wages will be halved. Its definitely a case of getting them in and selling them on for profit.

Re: O/T Ha'why the lads?

Buy players cheap, get relegated, get parashute payments, sell good players for lots of cash, get promoted, rinse and repeat

That's gonad*s btw, the 75% tax rate idea got thrown out by the constitutional council.

They just kicked it down the road a few months. Hollande still wants to bring it in and people like Bernard Arnault and Sarkosy are moving out of France.

Hey greg one of my best mates is a sunderland fan and he told me something not sure if it true but he sais sunderland are called mackem because they make the ships and the geordies are howay because they send them away, is that true or was he trumping me? im genuinely interested.

Obviously northerners are second class citizens but your still a part of this country, just. So im interested in how these customs came into being.

Your on here a lot but your about the only non spurs fan i can actually tolerate, what im saying is your all right for a northern monkey.

Vince McMahon ‘eyeing up shock Saudi Sportswashing Machine takeover bid’
Tuesday 18 Feb 2014 8:06 am

Can you smell what the Toon are cooking? World Wrestling Entertainment owner Vince McMahon apparently can, and he’s allegedly gearing up (again) for a Saudi Sportswashing Machine takeover bid.

That’s right – the WWE supremo is supposedly ‘sniffing around’ the Magpies after news reached him that Mike Ashley wants to tombstone his stake in the St James’ Park outfit.

A Saudi Sportswashing Machine source told British website Winner Sports: ‘Vince McMahon has been sniffing around the club and seems keen on pursuing his interest.

‘He sees England as an untapped market for his wrestling empire. He has even indicated he could put on wrestling bouts at St James’s Park

‘Obviously it is very early days but there is hope the fans may get what they want with Ashley leaving. Buying a club like Saudi Sportswashing Machine would throw him into the spotlight in England which is just what he is looking to do.’

The news is likely to hit Toon fans like a flying elbow-drop off the top rope, but this isn’t the first time McMahon has been linked with a move for the Magpies, and just like back in 2011, it’s expected that club officials will brand the story as nothing but ‘nonsense’.

Still, that hasn’t stopped Twitter users envisaging one hell of a line up for Saudi Sportswashing Machine next season under McMahon’s rule.
