Draxler

Showed some real quality again last night.

Still only 19 and looks like the kind of kid that physically could be heading in the 'bale' direction. He certainly has the tekkers to go with it.

Surely we must of looked at him.......and him and Holtby must be mates.

If you ever needed a 'hype-man' to big up your club....Holtby's your man.

Only seen him twice (ECL) and he was a tricky fecker. Very good performances

Probably about as likely as Mata?

I'd hope not.

Chelsea hates us....Jose hates AVB....We're too close for comfort for Chelsea to entertain selling us Mata

Draxler is bemoaning no new signings at Schalke and their on relegation form at the moment. Granted just secured CL.

I suppose with the position we are in, if we liked him we would have been in for him. I like him......maybe i should twitter this one up :)

I just think he's so highly rated that bigger clubs would be in for him in a flash if he became available. There have been reports about him rejecting approaches for some of the biggest clubs in the world because he wants to continue his development and Schalke for now.

Has he not already turned down some massive clubs? If he was available we would have no chance.

Re: Draxler I understand that Schalke and Arsenal have agreed a fee. If he will leave now I don't know. But this is latest info #afc

:frown:

Cheeky bid in for Oxlade Chambelain? I mean the goons will have Cazorla, Wheelchair, Draxler, Ozil, Ramsey, Walcott, Rosicky and Gnabry all fighting it out for three to four spots.
He's had bad luck with injuries and I'm not sure where an earth we could play him, although I like the idea of us taking him off the goons, he's class.

Because he's one of the most highly rated youngsters in Europe and there's not a cat in hells chace he'd want to come to us.

I thought Lamela was too, but he did. But, as Galeforce says, Chelsea would only come in and gazump the deal if we got close

Don't see why he wouldn't want to go to Arsenal though?

They have German players in Ozil, Podolski and Mertesacker who are all well known in the German national team. As well as two very promising young Germans in Eisfed and Gnabry. Draxler would fit right in and it looks like Wenger is trying to go for a German team who are known for their excellent work rate as well as natural ability. He had his French side in the 90s/00s when they dominated football and now it looks like he's going with Germany.

If they really do pay 40M for him after paying 45M for Ozil, I don't care how good he is, they (or Wenger) would really be a joke.

They have a good squad no doubt, but they are a Mertersacker injury away from disaster at the back imo. Plus Giroud is good for how they play, but imagine if they had somebody in the same mould with a better chance conversion ratio, plus more pace. They'd be lethal.

As it stands, how many midfielders can they possibly play? Maybe the story is jumping the gun a little and he'll join them in the summer instead

They rely upon their midfielders scoring goals. Buying a player who will do that for them from that position for the next 5-8 years is a good bit of business. Wenger could easily build a side for the future based around Draxler.
