****OMT - TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs WOOLWICH ARSEnal****

Well Its about getting your mentality spot on regarding how you go into games...coupled with how you react to a set-back...eg losing. to answer the question 'what do we do if we lose' We act like demented ferrets getting our training and preparation tip top for the next game so we can put in a peformance and win....right the wrong straight away if you like...if that means minimal laughing around on the training pitch and deadly serious then so be it.

I agree with your sentiments about not letting things affect you to much......I just think we have an opportunity to go on a run of wins if we can pull something out of the bag saturday.

Dont get me wrong I wont be knee jerking if we do lose but I will be inconsolable for a bit.

In terms of self belief and confidence and to mould a winning team I dont think you can ever have a midset in which losing is bearable......Roy Keane must have been the most anoying person in training after a bad result....but he made damn sure that standards wouldnt drop and things would be turned around quickly.

Not that I think you need 11 players with his mentality....but there you go! I guess I want to win this very much and appologise if my posts come accross as a bit full-on.

Just really want to win this[-o<

Oh, I really want a win too... :)

I really wish one of our players would come out and talk about how much they hate Arsenal. We always hear it from them. Scezney. Walcott. Always bad mouthing us or telling us they'll beat us etc. Other than VdV I never got the impression that any of our lot hated them. Wenger always seems to get his lot pumped up for this one. I hope Sherwood will be able to do the same. I'm not saying hate will beat them, but I just want them 100% motivated every time we play the scum

Honestly, it's usually their **** players that are looking to get attention that go off on the rant. VDV definitely had it up for them, today's squad, Sandro and seems Ade is desperate to show them.

Squad choice might be interesting from Wenger, past few years where they were playing for 4th, he needed to pacify the fans and typically played a strong team against us. Now, actually being in the title run in, with a few injuries and a thin squad, it will be interesting to see if he feels comfortable enough to play a true 2nd string and likely lose, or still feels he needs to put out a first team.

Defoe, holtby and Townsend are all back.

If we want to win, I think we should go with the team that started at Man Utd. If Rose is still dodgy then maybe Fryers at LB, seeing as Walcott and Valencia caused Rose problems anyway this season.

Ideally it would have been nice to have rested Dembele if we had either Sandro or Paulinho. I just think if we stand any chance then we need him. Holtby and Capoue as a CM pairing would not fill me with confidence going to Arsenal. I don't mind seeing Lamela in there either on the right but again Lennon in playing himself into form. Townsend on the left is exciting but then it would end our wonky with Eriksen on the left and I would imagine leave us horribly exposed in the middle.

Again Lamela could play behind the front man but I just think Ade has to play again if we have any chance here. Also Soldado has been playing well even if he hasnt been scoring the chances that are falling his way.

This is Sherwood though I would not be surprised with him fielding something like:

-----------------Lloris-----------------
Walker------Daws-----Chiriches-----Rose
Lennon---Dembele---Eriksen--Townsend
----------Adebayor---Defoe----------------

*looks like Lamela is out anyway.

Not as much pressure in this game compared to a league game, so I'd be tempted to rest a few players.

-------------- Friedel
Fredericks Dawson Chiriches Rose
Chadli Bentaleb Capoue Eriksen
----------- Ade Soldado

Maybe Fryers for one of the CBs.

I don't think Wenger will want to risk many of his first-teamers getting knobbled in this, and I don't think we should, either. I can see it being a battle of the second-strings.

Arsenal will put a strong side out, and we should put pur best team out too. It is Arsenal in the cup for ****'s sake. I don't understand all this talk about how we should rest players for this one. I, for one, would love to pick up a trophy, I would love us to beat Arsenal and there is a full week before our next game, so there is plenty of time for our players to recover.

I would love it if we won but not just won but hammered them. Id love it if we tore them a new one without lube then ****ed on them for fun because we can.

I really wanna spank someone away from home.

In that case you may as well play Fryers for Rose, Townsend for Eriksen, Holtby for Capoue and Defoe for Ade

Unless Rose is feeling his injury in any way I'd give him the match practice. Who knows, he might score... Holtby Bentaleb Eriksen, not for me. Townsend and Defoe? Not a chance.

Can you name the four current Spurs players who have scored in an FA Cup match?

... who have scored in an FA Cup match for Spurs.

Some others have scored FA Cup goals for other teams including Dembele in the 4-0 win against us at Craven Cottage.

Oh I wouldn't play that team at all, but I thought you were just resting key players :p

Looking forward to this for some reason now

very much THIS, it's ****ing Arsescum in the FA Cup if I could pick one match the rest of the season to win it would be this one! full week until next match should be our first choice 11 barring injuries and do these ****s!

Can't believe people saying to rest players?!?! No chance

He'll play all their best players with one or two fringe players and everyone will say he played the kids.

Listen, to anyone saying we should put out a 'weakened' side by choice…this is the filth! It's the FA Cup! Please please PLEASE, understand the facts of life!
