Our home form...

spurs' magna carter

Ronnie Rosenthal
.....is a huge worry.

P9 W4 D2 L3 F8 A12.

Also the passing was horrific at times, it was as if the players were all having their usual head sleeps. I really couldn't tell who was coming down with a cold, me or them, honestly with home form like this we'd be lucky to finish in the 8!

If you're chasing top 4 you have to win at least 12 of your 19 home games.

They just need time to gel!\o/

On the other hand our away form is excellent. 2.11 points per game must be title winning form. Six wins is twice that of Liverpool, Chelsea and City, whereas they have twice as many points as us from home games. Even respectable home form would have us strongly contending among the top four. Frustrating.

i was going to say we play better at home when the good side come and have a go. But then i remembered last weekend :(

Home form vs bottom half:

2008-2009: 11th
2009-2010: 11th (2.2 ppg)
2010-2011: 8th (2.1 ppg)
2011-2012: 8th (2.3 ppg)
2012-2013: 9th (2 ppg)
2013-2014: 10th (2 ppg)

Yep, we've got serious problems.

2005-2006: played 10. Won 9, drawn 1. (3rd)
2006-2007: played 10, won 8, drawn 1 (5th)

Good times

Watching us at home is like watching.....

Our results at home this season are some of the worst this club has endured in over a decade, hopefully the new signings will gel soon and turn White Hart Lane into a fortress again...

I see the positive side of this appalling home form. Lots of home games go into general sale. That gives people like me the chance to actual see a game.

It's not just the results, it's the performances. Saudi Sportswashing Machine aside, how many games have you come away from WHL and thought we played really well and deserved to win today? After decades of shocking away form thankfully we've reversed that trend so surely figuring it out at home should be easier shouldn't it?

Dunno, I was told getting rid of the manager was the solution.

Well there's no doubt in my mind that it got worse under AVB. You were a very patient man when AVB was in charge so surely you have to accept Sherwood needs more than 2 league games to improve things? Did you truthfully enjoy watching us at home from August 2012 until today?

I agree, it's not even just the fact that performances haven't been in line with the 'Tottenham Way', they've been down right awful. Today it was pathetic at times, the missed hit passes by the likes of Eriksen and Holtby were shocking to point they looked as they were having a head sleep, what also summed it up was what Sherwood said in the post match interview.

"I thought we created some chances in the second half - but I'm always seeking perfection and we could have probably had a bit more guile around the edge of their box and risked the ball a bit better, and also we can improve on winning the ball back a little bit further up the field."

Seems to be the case every week and it's so frustrating to watch.

Actually, yes I did. I like my managers to out - think their opponents and I like seeing my team on the ball rather than running around chasing the other team.

As soon as Sherwood tries to put in some kind of system that gives us a chance of overtaking the richer clubs in the long run I'll give him time. All the time he implements "tactics" designed to differentiate himself from his predecessor whilst reducing our chances of winning, he can **** off.

I despair, that's all I can really say. Of course winning is what's most important but I want to actually enjoy the games too and the last 18 months have been anything but enjoyable to watch for me. One of Redknapp's biggest failings according to a lot of people on GG was that we relied too much on individual brilliance, so what exactly did we witness during most of Bale's showstopping performances? He literally was the only difference in most of our games from January onwards so how AVB gets credit for outhinking the other coach I am at a loss for words.

We didn't have Bale this season and we were on for a better points total than last season.

After a small sample of games, real life isn't the BBC sport football predictor I'm afraid. Other teams have around us have improved also so this so called better points total may not have even have been good enough for Europa League qualification. Once again, are you really giving AVB credit for outhinking other coaches during Bale's great form?
