Would you take Suarez now?

Really can't see Liverpool losing him in January. He might not want to disrupt this hot run of form with a move (to most likely) another team and country in a WC year. Can see him leaving in the summer for Madrid but think he will stay the season and Liverpool will qualify for the CL.

Does anyone of the no's have him in the gg fantasy league. Just for a laugh someone should see if there is any double standards flying around. :ross:

got him as captain LOL

still dont want an unrepentant racist dingdong head in my team for real. he has bitten more than one person btw and cheated a fair few times...as in literally cheated not just run of the mill dive

i dont like that man and just because he is a good footballer doesnt excuse anything. having said that at the risk of being called bitter and getting chucked out i have this stance cause on quite a few occasions i have experienced racial bias / slur / threats / fights etc. Nothing jaw dropping...just what you would expect in a non ethnic majority society (goes both ways as it happens in the society)

i dont have time for that **** or the people that push it on or casually keep doing it

moving me up the fantasy football though .....\o/

dude didnt even shake evra's hand

It's a lot easier (for me at least) to take the moral high ground and say no to that knowing that there's no chance in hell of us actually signing him.

I had the same feelings when we were linked with signing Bowyer and Remy. And about Redknapp too.

i think it comes to experience, awareness and tolerance levels

for instance if Remy and his pals did indeed rape that girl...no matter how many goals he scores i wouldnt want him playing for tottenham

some people may find it easier to accuse others of taking the easy route cause the scenario wont happen anyway. I just shrug stuff like that off cause they havent got my personal experience on the reasons why i dont want suarez or my tolerance levels are lower than theirs

either way everyone has their own breaking point

I wouldn't hire the guy for my office, but that's real life, premier league football isn't

its funny but thats , in a weird way, sort of the same with me picking him for fantasy footy. that for me isnt real life but the premier league is

i think i see what you are getting at

The thing about integrity, is that it doesn't change just because the reward for doing wrong increases.

Says it all for me.

If I don't want a player because he's a violent, racist, cheating cvnt, then whether he's a good, great or terrible footballer is entirely irrelevant.

Totally ****in agree.

Also im of the opinion that he seems to have changed slightly and focused solely on his football since his return.

There are some who dont forget but I do because people change. Id ****in take him and suggested we shoulda bid 40-50m when we sold Bale.

What evidence is there that he was racist btw (genuine question)?

The official report of the incident has him admitting to refering to Evra as 'Blacky' iirc (the negrito stuff wasn't actually proven or admitted according to the report) Evra threw around a few insults himself which according to the letter of the law were racist aswell but for some reason never got in trouble.

All a load of handbags really

No, I don't like his character. Racist is as racist does (or speaks), IMO, but, even leaving that aside, the fact he's a thoroughgoing, dyed-in-the-wool, dirty wee cheat is enough for me to dismiss the idea entirely. I don't get the 'now' part of the question, either. What's changed?

The FA report of the disciplinary hearing is very thorough but they looked into him using racist language and not whether he is a racist. If you can't be bothered to read the whole thing pages 25 and 44 are probable good places to start from.

Just had a read through ..well a skim through...and Suarez's version of events actually sounds more plausible imo.

EDIT : Just reading the summing up in the later pages and i take my comment back.

Answer = no, the guy has shown all kinds of issues re biting, pinching, diving, victim mentality, generally dislikable and make no mistake like Tevez will stay no where without starting to angle for money or exit in a year.

Re the racist stuff, people quickly forget his reaction (which for me says much more than whatever he said or how he said it). If he really said something that was "misinterpreted" or a cultural mix up, all he had to do post game or post the initial accusation was "Hey, I'm sorry, cultural misunderstanding, was never meant to be racist, I understand my responsibility as a role model and apologies for any unintended offense", say that, have him and Pool contribute a few quid to an anti racism campaign and the whole issue would have been dead before it started.

The fact that weeks/months later he was still trying to play the cultural victim card while never quite acknowledging what he said could be interpreted a certain way shows his true colours for me.

The panel disagreed and found the evidence given by Liverpool to be inconsistent. At least by publishing the report we can read how they came to a decision and read the expert witnesses evidence. The FA get a lot wrong but I think that this is an improvement on how they used to do this kind of thing.

In my opinion, he genuinely was a victim of cultural differences. That is not to say his actions were right.
