Crazy that i wouldn't put Kaboul in the 18 but he played 90 minutes yesterday and we need more attacking options on the bench for this one imo.

Reasons: I love Dembele. Typically I would have gone with Dembele and Sandro but whilst the front 4 are not creating enough, Paulinho does have a fantastic knack of making up numbers in the box and increases our chances of scoring.

Lennon over Townsend. I think Townsend has been our stand out player so far this season and doesn't deserve dropping. But Lennon is the one player for me who actually makes runs without the ball. We have too many players who want the ball at their feet before doing something with it. I'd like to see Lennon getting behind the fullback.

Eriksen over Siggy. Siggy has been our best player probably after Townsend, arguably better. I'm a big fan. But I want to see Eriksen and Lamela start to live up to the promise. Both have started showing glimpses and with the WHL crowd in fine voice of late, it's a good time to start persisting with them.

I'd play Eriksen left rather than his favoured position because I think they showed yesterday how interchangeable they were. Eriksen also has a great shot and decent turn of pace.

Of course this won't be the team he chooses, and it may well flop if it were selected, but hey that's what I'd do.
 
Who stole the opening post?

That first post is just a reply to someone else, well at least it looks that way! Starting with a question that should be a statement, even if said that 'it appears likely that...'. No conviction in the opening post, no time of kick off, no TV Details. Lamela playing in the centre, when he excelled on the wing. No Holtby/Eriksen.

We may as well have JV playing one-twos with Lloris all game for all the confidence that this opening post gave me. We're going to lose 10-0. The badger will realise that he's sporting a Saudi Sportswashing Machine colours scheme and so change sides and score all ten.
 
Absolutely spiffing omt.......completely disregards the omt guidelines and gets the job done.

both manc clubs after the international break.......wow this is a must-win........Lamela must at least get a 30 min sub appearance.......

gawd knows how AVB will line up though.....either way 3 points is precious....must fight tooth and nail for them on sunday....don't like the early sunday kick-off though.

Tottenham Hotspur host Saudi Sportswashing Machine at White Hart Lane in the 11th Round of matches of the 2013-14 Premier League season on Sunday 10th November 2013 (KO 12:00).

Spurs come into the match in 4th place in the Table on 20 points with Saudi Sportswashing Machine in 9th place on 14 points.

This will be the 151st time the two clubs have met.

The first meeting came in the old second round (today's fourth round) of the FA Cup in February 1905 with Saudi Sportswashing Machine drawing 1-1 at White Hart Lane before winning the replay at St James' Park 4-0. To date, the clubs have met 9 times in the FA Cup.

The clubs met for the first time in the Football League in November 1909 in the First Division with Saudi Sportswashing Machine winning 1-0 at St James' Park and completing the 'double' over Spurs with a 4-0 win at White Hart Lane in March 1910.

Tottenham's first win over Saudi Sportswashing Machine came in a First Division match at White Hart Lane in November 1912 with Jimmy Cantrell scoring the only goal of the match.

There were further meetings in the First Division up to season 1933-34 with honours generally pretty even.

An FA Cup 4th round match in January 1935 was won 2-0 by Spurs at White Hart Lane with George Hunt (Spurs' record goalscorer until Bobby Smith) scoring both goals.

The next 12 meetings between the clubs came in the Second Division of the Football League either side of World War Two from 1935-36 to 1947-48. These dozen matches were the only League games contested between Spurs and Saudi Sportswashing Machine outside the Top Flight of English Football.

The 1950-51 season saw Spurs win their first Football League Championship and in the process they did the 'double' over Saudi Sportswashing Machine winning 7-0 at home and 1-0 away. The 70,336 spectators at White Hart Lane for that emphatic 7-0 win were the largest crowd at any Spurs v Saudi Sportswashing Machine fixture in history.

Spurs beat Saudi Sportswashing Machine in the 1952 Charity Shield 2-1 at White Hart Lane with Les Bennett and Peter 'Spud' Murphy scoring the goals which won the silverware.

The first Football League Cup meeting came in the Semi-Finals in January 1976 with John Pratt scoring the winning goal at White Hart Lane in the first leg but Saudi Sportswashing Machine winning 3-1 at St James' Park despite a Don McAllister goal to advance to the Wembley Final.

Saudi Sportswashing Machine, along with West Ham United, were the first clubs to be promoted to the Premier League for the 1993-94 season and Spurs won the first match against Saudi Sportswashing Machine in the competition 1-0 away at St James' Park with a Teddy Sheringham goal. The Magpies had their revenge at White Hart Lane in December with a 2-1 win.

An FA Cup Semi-Final at Old Trafford in April 1999 was won 2-0 by Saudi Sportswashing Machine after extra time.

Saudi Sportswashing Machine lost their Premier League status at the end of the 2008-09 season but won promotion at the first attempt managed by former Spurs player and assistant manager Chris Hughton. Hughton was sacked under controversial circumstances in December 2010 and Alan Pardew was appointed as Saudi Sportswashing Machine's new manager.

The fixture at St. James' Park in October 2011 resulted in a 2-2 draw. Rafael van der Vaart opened the scoring from the penalty spot after 40 minutes. Demba Ba pulled Saudi Sportswashing Machine level three minutes into the second half but Jermain Defoe's 68th minute goal looked like securing all three points. Substitute Shola Ameobi scored a late equaliser for Saudi Sportswashing Machine. The reverse fixture at White Hart Lane in February 2012 resulted in a comprehensive 5-0 win for Spurs with goals from Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Louis Saha (2), Niko Kranjcar and Emmanuel Adebayor.

The opening match of the 2012-13 season at St James' Park resulted in a 2-1 win for Saudi Sportswashing Machine. Demba Ba put United ahead after 54 minutes with Jermain Defoe equalising for Spurs after 76 minutes. Ben Arfa was fouled by Aaron Lennon and he scored from the penalty spot for the winner on 80 minutes.

Spurs won their home League game in February 2013 2-1 with two goals from Gareth Bale, the first coming after 5 minutes from a free-kick and the second after 78 minutes. Yoan Gouffran had levelled things for Saudi Sportswashing Machine mid-way through the first half.

Tottenham Hotspur have won 63 of the 150 matches played so far with Saudi Sportswashing Machine winning 55 and the remaining 32 games drawn.

Surely you jest sir. Mr Statue himself hides next to his marker. How many times last year did he use his pace to get behind the defence? He has become so ineffective in an attacking sense that he is now well behind Townsend and Lamela until he rediscovers his attacking verve.
 
I think we should consider a game of two halfs and different sides for this one. Open up with our high energy players and finish with our game changers when the oppo are tiring:

I could not disagree with this more.
 
Last season we won this fixture 2-1.

In the 11th round we played Man ****ty at the CoMS and lost 1-2.

A win would put us on 23 points from 11 games, right on schedule for 80 points.

We are currently 5 points ahead on the same fixtures last season and 3 points on the same number of games played.

We are however 2 points behind our best start to a season in 2011/12. This was the 4th game in a 6 game winning streak.
 
It can't be any worse than recent games so why not start

I've mentioned it so many times before when discussing differences between Lennon and Townsend. Townsend will never make a run off the ball beyond the full back. He'd rather receive the ball to feet and look to take on the his opposite number.

Lennon often relies on give and goes and his pace to get behind his opposition off the ball. He does it every time he plays. I'm not sure how you can disagree with that. All our other players, Lamela, Eriksen, Siggy, Holtby all like the ball to feet rather than making a run into space. Lennon might be ineffective right now but that's because we are not blessed with progressive passers in our team. Holtby, Eriksen and Siggy are a few players who are good at playing passes behind the opposition. Lennon is the one that's most likely to make the run without the ball to get on the end of it.
 
If Lamela starts, he has to start in a wide position. He's currently more effective off the wing and with the way the middle of the pitch tends to get bottled up, he'd be lost in there right now. The only way he could play behind Soldado right now is if Lennon AND Townsend started and Rose was fit to offer two FB bombers…I DO, like KD, hold high hopes that in the future i.e. a season, Lamela could be the answer to that 10 spot, however this is too soon for that IMO...
