Anyone remember that Bale chap?

I don't really wan't to see Bale set the world ablaze after all that happened, but I would be very disappointed if his career was stifled by injury's.

I had no idea that 'hernia' was a euphemism for 'Cristiano Ronaldo'...the boy has been sold-out by all who advised him...enjoy the money matey because the career might not ever quite recover...

Marca gone into overdrive today, 1st 3 stories on their website !!!!

In light of the information divulged by Real Madrid regarding Gareth Bale's back injury, MARCA gathered the opinions of several prestigious Spanish doctors. The most convincing was Dr. Avelino Parajón: "If Real Madrid have signed Gareth Bale knowing about this protrusion, they have committed an error".

"That is not to say that tomorrow it can be operated on and he can continue playing, like has happened many times. But if he already has problems with protruding discs, that indicates that it is not a one-off", continued the doctor.

"When a person has those problems at that age, it suggests that he has a great possibility of suffering herniated discs and symptoms arising from that over time. It is a bad sign for any athlete", assures Parajón

Tottenham backroom staff already devised a special fitness programme for Gareth Bale three years ago. The Welshman had suffered postural difficulties dating back to his time at Southampton.

The Spurs devised a tailor-made exercise programme for Bale to ease his pain from back-related injuries and tried to get him fit for the club's biggest match in a generation against... Real Madrid.

The midfielder had suffered from unique postural problems since he was a youth-team player coming through the ranks at Southampton

Bale's hernia brings back bad memories for the Real fans and medical staff. The Welshman is not the first footballer from Real Madrid to suffer such an injury. 'Pipita' Higuain went through the same thing three seasons ago.

The Argentine suffered a herniated disc in the lumbar (L5-S1), which resulted in sensory and motor weakness in his legs. At first, he attempted to avoid surgery with a treatment that was intended to heal the Argentine without the need for hospitalisation.

But the injury did not evolve as expected and Higuaín was forced to undergo surgery, although he at first refused to go under the knife until the end of the season. In December the injury worsened and Mourinho and the club's medical staff urged him to have the operation.

However, a new treatment appeared on the horizon and it looked like Higuaín would manage to avoid the operating theatre once and for all. But it didn't go well and by the end of the month the club was already seeking a doctor to carry out the surgery.

On 11th January in Chicago, Higuain entered the operating theatre of Dr. Fessler, an expert in the field. The operation was quick and successful with the doctor performing a non-invasive intervention, meaning less distress for the player.

The procedure was conducted at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Higuaín was accompanied by four people: his mother Nancy, his father Jorge, Real Madrid's Sanitas doctor, Carlos Díez, and the Argentinean team doctor, Daniel Martínez

This transfer is sailing up as one of the greatest scams in football, if not history of sports. Love it. I really hope we knew.

Well its not like im watching him play or read articles or even comment on him. I dont - not even sure why we have a thread on Bale.

A bit like the thread on Harry. The same people who didnt like him are same people who bringing him up on here. Thought we were moving on? ;)))))))))))

Anywasy no dout theyll give us Bale back for Townsend

All that whilst Bale has earnt over £2,000,000 since he has joined them.

Wow!! That is more than twice the amount of money I have earned since he joined them.

RM also signed Woodgate who had big injury probs for them but was one of our best ever signings.

Not that I wish any serious injury to Bale, but if it does turn out he has serious back issues that will prevent him from playing and performing regularly for Real Madrid, it will be hilarious. Absolutely hilarious.

After all the **** Real Madrid and their PR people over at Marca pulled during the summer, if it turns out Real bought the world's most expensive player and then found out he was crooked, it will be the biggedt load of karma the world has ever seen. Seriously.

I would feel very sorry for Bale though. In between laughing at Real and Marca.

One thing he can't do now is a quick drive down the M4 and see his parents anfd girlfriend for some home comforts...........that 6 bedroom villa looks pretty big now and theres only so much xbox/playstation you can play on your own...........

At least he's living his dream.

Any club would give a player who's cost as much, or half as much, maybe even quarter as much, as Bale a season at the very least to settle in even if they wern't producing their best form.

But this is Real Madrid we're talking about. The way I see it Bale has 2 or 3 more games to turn it around otherwise he'll be cast on to the bench where he'll be given the odd 10 or 20 miniutes to turn it around. If he doesn't manager too after a few sub apperances, he'll be cast into the reserves and never heard of again. Just like Kaka.

Welcome to Real Madrid. They'll love you if your expensive and glamarous but if you don't hit it off straight away your despised and hated. Fickle bunch of idiots.

Is that a joke? If so that's a pathetic attempt at bragging!!!

It's 1333 times the student loan I have got to last me to December. Could pay for the 250 people living in my student halls 4 x over with change left!!!!!

hey consider it the fee for disowning your parents and friends for a while,... plenty leftover to buy them back if you can count your pennies.
