OMT - Tottenham vs. West Ham

Credit to West Ham. Can't even say that 3-0 flattered them in the end. Can't remember the last time we were so comprehensively out-thought and out-fought at home.

Well, that was absolutely woeful.

The clock has to start ticking for AVB at some point. The club and the fans have to eventually start assessing his time at the club. Last year was way too early. And up to the January window, it will likely still be too early.

But results like this don't help. He was out-thought by Big Sam. Big f***ing Sam. Being out-thought by Mourinho I could easily stomach, but our mercurial Portuguese technician being schooled by Big f***ing Sam?

I imagine for a few sections of our support, having just watched our extremely expensive side go down 3-0 at home to West Ham.....this will be the moment they start judging.

I agree that today was absolutely awwwwwwwwwful, but how exactly has Big Sam out thought AVB here? It's hardly stunningly new tactical innovation, to go to a top side when you are a mid table team and park the bus. And if the didn't have a striker in the squad, it's natural to go 4-6-0.

We played the way we would if we would have won the game, in terms of set up. The selection was fine. It was just an awful, awful day. The players weren't at it. I put it down to a terrible day at the office, that can happen.

Doesn't mean all these sweeping statements need to be made. AVB is bad, Soldado is bad, Defoe is bad blah blah blah. Today felt like the Fulham game at home last year, where we just weren't at it. I think the weakness in the squad at full back was exposed today. Walker looked injured and that done us. That uncertainty and lack of being bang at it spread to the rest of the team. I'm sure of that.

AVB cannot seem to get the players up for away Europa games then Sunday at the lane. This has Fulham at home last season written all over it.

No urgency nothing. They did look like, oh it's only a team that's in 18th (I bet some of them still don't understand London rivalry). Fair dues to Fat Sam and that lot, got a couple of lucky breaks with 2 of the goals with a rebound, they were fighting to get a result they desperately needed.

We have got to up our tempo and create more going out wide. Teams just congest the middle as we keep going in and break on us, today was a stark reality check indeed. A nightmare game, everything that could go wrong did ...

I am grateful to Sam for showing us that we can't get away with playing a **** team and winning easily. He outsmarted AVB today as he has other top managers. We were poor today and got well beaten as should happen. We started so slow that it was almost impossible to get things going barring a Bale wonderstrike. Sounds like last season but without Bale.

On the positive side, its important to be humbled this early to give you time to work on these problems without coasting through and getting found out in Feb/March.

I think this was the worst home game I've seen in the last 10 years! I can not think of anything positive from the 90 minutes I've seen!

We played the same team all season because things were going well but can we now just play our actually best team?! Sandro must start. Naughton should never ever start even if every defender is injured :) Siggurdsson shouldn't start and Defoe. Townsend, who I still think is limited was actually decent today up until the 60th minute. Personally, i think we paid 30m for Lamaela, let's put him th ein the first 11. These 20 minute cameos are only going to stop his development and adjustment.

Lloris, Walker, Dawson, Vertonghen, Rose, Sandro, Dembele, Lamela, Eriksen, Townsend, Soldado

Really hope Lennon and Chadli can provide decent cover. Holtby's another who only seems to look good against weaker opposition, he's never looked as good coming on in the premier league, or even starting in the league last season.

Humiliation.

And still there will be the 'usual suspects' on here defending AVB. Its not just even about today - I have said from the start that AVB is not good enough to manage us. Its not the players who are ****, its him making them **** !

Bale saved his job last year. This year no Bale to cover AVB's complete and utter ****ness !

1 defeat at home in 20-odd games.

record points total last year.

1 season into the job.

give the guy a break.

They didn't park the bus. Parking the bus is settling for a 1-0 win. Even in the first half they got men forward. We made it seem like they parked the bus because we were soooooo slow getting the ball forward.

Lamela has demonstrated nothing yet that he deserves a starting place. I wouldn't personally start Dembele either, as for me he flatters to deceive. But then I'd like to ditch this formation too because it is really is the anti-football formation as demonstrated in the past by Chelsea and City title winning teams that were full of talent and ****e to watch.

Townsend was attacking very well down the right, but we had no one in the middle to capitalize on his crosses.

I believe in AVB, but there will always be a problem when we do not have a first 11'a. I begin to become more and more negative towards Dembele, is it just me?

No I feel the same. He carries the ball but then what? He often checks his run when he is in possession and slows everything down allowing the opposition to get back. I felt the same last season too.

Do we not train for these type of games? Id have thought that in training you put 11 behind the ball and then say to the attacking 4 to play all day until you can score for fun.

Id rather get redknapp back, at least the game was entertaining, whoever won. Ive been bored as **** watching us this season. I feel sorry for those who pay through the nose for tickets and travel to watch this dross.

We have been poor to watch for a long, long time now.

football is an entertainment business, this has been lost to the premier league.
