Ratings v Man U

2 defensive lapses and they are 2 up - the 3rd was a lottery win

Saha needs to be dropped, he is dead weight, and cannot live any longer off that Saudi Sportswashing Machine performance

The overall team performance was excellent, but as we knew, we would always lack that inspiration from M/F, and despite the solidity of Livermores performance, there was no creativity, Sandro and JL should have swapped roles IMV, but the pair of them were solid and gave nothing away.

If Defoe doesn't get a start, I'm going to send HR a photo of one of my next bowel movements as a protest.

If we had played like that against the goons, I think we would have won

Why the negativity for Walker?, His biggest fault was not being adventurous enough.

No his biggest fault(s) were when he could have quite easily cleared the ball for the Young goal for a corner but makes a very poor clearence. His other fault was letting Rooney go in unmarked for his goal (actually he was standing there with his hands on his hips for a few seconds).

Don't ever like to pick faults with our players but Walker seems to have lapses in games which end up costing us goals. Not always down to him but it was poor marking for the 1st and he should've maybe cleared the 2nd further than he did although Modric should shoulder the blame for that one.

Friedel- 7. Harsh to say he should have saved any of the goals.

Walker-5.5. Lost concentration for the first goal, a bit of a killer. Was alright defensively, didn't venture forward much and when he did, his crossing was atrocious.
King-7
Kaboul-7.
BAE- Very good defensively, marshaled Nani. Also one of our better attacking threats as well, he's really come on in that regard. If he improved his crossing a bit, he'd be unbelievable. Small suggestion though.

Lennon-8. Why were we not constantly giving him the ball? And why were we not constantly making him run at Jones?
Livermore-7.5. Didn't really see a performance like that coming from Livermore tbh. Still lacking creativity from the centre but did the best he could and Scholes and Carrick didn't do much.
Sandro-7. Did his job quite well.
Modric-7. Was good when he got the ball but would have hurt Man utd more in the centre imo.

Adebayor-5.5. kept on making himself available but in the first half especially, was constantly losing the ball and being outmuscled by their cbs.
Saha-5. For all the talk of handball or not, Saha should have smashed that in without hitting anyone anyway. Started alright but then disappeared.

Defoe- 7. Well taken goal. Did alright. Should start next game.
Kranjcar and Rose- n/a

I thought he did well not to score an og

Rooney is world class at this kind of thing, to singlw Walker out is too easy,IMV

and I'm no Walker apologist

Had he used the other foot he would have cleared it easily. Anyway i'm a fan of his and he will improve for sure. Today though he was poor.

Re Walker's performance, When he is on form Rooney is very difficult to mark and he was well up for it coming back after a layoff. Walker will improve with experience and should be an asset to the club for some years. We should be pleased he is at the club and do our best to hang to him. Corluka was good -but he was too slow.

Friedel - 6
BAE - 7 Controlled the flank
Kaboul - 7
King - 7
Walker - 5 has to take some criticism for the goals
Modric - 6 asleep for the 2nd goal but good play in tight spaces
Livermore - 8 confident in the tackle, knew when to stand up or dive in, very good positive use of the ball and kept it well without resorting to passing it backwards
Sandro - 7 Solid tackled well looked to start an attack as often as possible when he took the ball of a UTD Player.
Lennon -8 Did them damage every time he got the ball
Adebayor - 6 average no real supply behind him
Saha - 6

Its not like anyone is saying sell him are they?

Doesn't matter how good Rooney is. Walker lost concentration. And let Rooney get a start on him.

Livermore - Quality! He doesn't get as many slow motion replays of being heroicly taken out and isn't often seen ruffling his hair with a determined look in his eyes, but he was great today in my opinion. His passing was top notch today, think he had 100% passing at like the 70th minute, and it wasn't as if he was being unadventorous either.

Lennon - A genuinely exciting player, I think I enjoy watching him play more than I do Bale, probably because he acts like less of a bellend on the pitch.

Walker - Still very very young, lets not forget, but unfortunately at present he can't defend and the way he crosses means he can't do much in the opposing teams half either. Needs to improve.

Friedel - 7, don't think he was at fault for any of the goals

Walker - 6.5, loss Rooney for the first goal. Admittedly, marking Rooney is very challenging and maybe one of our more experienced players should have done so, but i think he was a good threat going forward also.
King & Kaboul - 7, normal, can't think of any massive **** ups from either of them.
BAE - 7.5, Ice cool

Lennon - 7.5, shame he didn't have more opportunities running at their full backs, our biggest attacking threat today
Livermore - 7.5, thought he was very good and composed on the ball. I can only remember him losing the ball once in a dodgy place, and thought he was very mature in his approach against Scholes.
Sandroman - 7, busy harassing as usual. Never a yellow.
Modric - 6.5, wasted on the left but still made some telling contributions. Fell asleep for their 2nd goal tho.

Adebayor - 6.5, few too many heavy touches
Saha - 6, should have tried to get more involved IMO, and should have scored

Defoe took his goal well, Rose looked energetice when he came on (unsurprisingly) and Kranjcar passed

Overall, we did alright. Not scoring first was key and i thought we may produce a rubbish performance in the 2nd half. Was pleasantly surprised to see that their was still belief amongst the players in the 2nd half (until they scored their 2nd anyway).

ManUre - I thought Ferdinand was quality for them today. It may sound stupid, but i forgot Young was on the pitch, until he scored his first. Quite surprised to see him get MotM.

This. Walker gets the blame but where were our central defenders? They should be marking Rooney.

Friedel - 6 - Rooney's goal is his fault - any ball in the 6 yard box should be the 'keeper's by definition.

Walker - 6 - Didn't really allow much down his side but also didn't offer a lot going forward.
King + Kaboul - 6 - They may not have been at fault for their goals but we conceded three goals.
BAE - 7 - Very calm on the left-hand side, and not much hoofing this week.

Lennon - 8 - A number of times he took on the left-back inside the 18 yard box and provided some dangerous balls into the box. Didn't get many opportunities but did well when provided.
Livermore + Sandro - 6.5 - I'll group these two together as I feel it's more fair. They did not offer much going forward, but I never expected them to. Defensively both of them were nowhere to be seen for the third goal but otherwise they did well.
Modric - 6 - Didn't do much on the left-hand side, and I wouldn't have expected him to either.

Saha - 5 - Not much to write home about.
Adebayor - 7 - Good hold up play, but there was no support from the midfield. 'Scored' a goal but this was chalked out for a handball.

Harry - I can't rate him. We played Modric on the left-hand side from the start. We have done well with him there in the past - but with a decent creative midfielder in the centre (Huddlestone). Didn't make any changes until we were 3-0 down which I thought was pathetic. Very dissapointed with his actions, but I still trust him to lead the side to a good finish this season.

A day to forget. Let's move onwards and upwards - regardless of what's happened today. Up the Spurs.

My MOTM from Spurs - Lennon.

Lennon has come on leaps and bounds and i love the guy. Part of the furniture and he along with Bale are the two players that excite me and gets me off my seat jerking away.

Lennon - 8.

Maybe I need to watch it again but I thought we played pretty well, defended poorly and naively though (how can we be so bad at defending corners? it's such an easily controlled part of the game if your organised and disciplined). I haven't seen the stats but I expect they're stacked in our favour?

Lennon was our MoM really pleased for him, seems really underrated by Spurs fans to me.

People are having a go at Harry, but we just dominated Man United despite missing 3 of our best players in Bale, Parker and VDV. We had 57% possession, 18 shots compared to 6, and 7 corners compared to 3 (http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17175777).

Whenever we lose people ALWAYS say what the manager should have done instead, but a) Overall we dominated today's game, and b) it's impossible to say whether or not we would have fared better if Harry had done things differently. If Luka had played in the middle and Niko on the left, we might have fared worse. Yes Modric is at his best in the middle, but Sandro and Livermore were both excellent today and helped us to boss the game.

Don't be too influenced by the score - we were the much better team today for most of the 90 minutes.

Stevenage has us panicking, wtf does that mean ? Do we get 3 pts if the other team panics ?

If Stevenage had us panicking, then I'm sure their fans would have marked their players quite highly in a match ratings thread.
Still didn't win though.

Fact remains, at times we were playing them off the park, and the ratings should refect that. But of course I doubt very much you'd agree with that, as it's not nearly negative enough.
