***OMT*** Tottenham Hotspur vs Norwich

I didn't mean it like that mate... I just wondered if you were English. Nobody English could speak 10 words of Romanian, let alone have the turn of phrase and nuance you displayed.
Nu e adevarat frate, sunt Englez si eu vorbesc un pic Romana =P~

Really enjoyed that - wait till the team gels! :D

Impressed with Rose today - much more like it. Walker - not so much :(

Loving it.

He has a very likable attitude, pretty rare these days in footballers.

Hmmm sorry mate but if he's any good he will be off after refusing to play/train for us of course. Stupidly as I don't expect much from footballers I'm still gutted about Bale - will support him tonight though.

Borderline exceptional performance for me.

90%of the team have been away in international duty and were playing steam we generally struggle against.

To dominate from start to finish like that was better than I expected and a very pleasing debut from Eriksen

Take away the flap from Hugo and that was a very very good performance for me

I agree with all of that.

Very good from us, loads of things that could have made that a very difficult game, but we looked completely dominant. I've rarely felt so confident that we would score.

Absolute beauty of a goal. That little pass from Eriksen was just perfect. Looks a very classy player.

Very happy with Paulinho today too, playing a somewhat different role to what he's played before and doing it very well. Shows what a useful player he will be for us.

Great all round performance, how many times in the past few seasons have we looked devoid of ideas when one or both of Bale/Lennon have been missing and now we seem to have a team packed full of quality with much more of a balanced attacking threat coming from any one of half a dozen players. Exciting times.

Tromsø are going to field a very weak side at The Lane on Thursday, as they are in a relegation battle in Norway - I seriously think we can hit them for 10 or more, if we want to. Especially based on what I saw today. We were immense going forward. Too bad we didn't score more goals.

Very happy, same as most have said on here. We just looked sooo comfortable, and their keeper plus bassong kept out a couple could have gone in. Shame Soldado didn't get one from the reverse flick, outrageous but great presence of mind.

Hughton won't last the season I'm afraid. The fans are turning on him. We ARE better than them and should be beating them, but they're not even trying. It's the same every away game for them.

Overconfidence and underestimation all in one, nice. All we need is our players to share that view and we are looking at a 0-0.

Brace for Sigurdsson.

Fantastic performance from Eriksen.

But Man of the Match for me was Danny Rose.

Nevermind the scoreline....ignore the possession stats...that was one-way traffic.

So much for Spurs 'bedding in' their new recruits...Lloris won't get an easier game for the rest of the season.

If we don't quicklylearn to keep the ball with more precision/determination/guile, or anything else you'd like to call it, then this season will be a damn sight more difficult than the last two.

To be honest we handed Spurs 3 points on a plate. They maybe a so called top 4 team but we were ****. If we played at our best we would have won that game. Spurs were not that great, we were just awful. Im glad we were not playing a top team we would have got hammered. Cant believe it was only 2-0.

Spurs were amazing today especially in that first half. I doubt any side in the division could have lived with them today. Unfortunately, people don't recognise the class they had on display but look instead for faults and mistakes they can pin on our players. If it was a boxing match, the ref would have stopped it before half time. We are highly unlikely to face such an onslaught again this season.

Most sides look world beaters against us though , its made easy when you are allowed to attck for 90 mins .

...We were outclassed in all areas ....

That is why we lost.

Spurs were very high quality today. We made sure of that by playing the same defensive " wait in our half until they score lots of goals and then bring on a defensive midfielder" approach that worked so well last season.

Nonsense, we were simply not good enough to be able to play in their half. Looking at the quality on display it's hardly surprising is it and that's why we were something like 6-1 to win today.

It's always disappointing to get beat but it was hardly unexpected. Losing next week would be a much bigger deal.

They were in our faces & on top of us from the off. We tried to pass our way out of defence, but they were too good, quick & full of energy so after 4 or 5 passes they had it back.

When teams like Spurs are in the mood they were today we will struggle. We could have even nicked something - but it would have been nicked big time if we did.

Committing men forward was impossible - we would have been totally (even more totally) overrun; unless you have men trying to retrieve the ball how on Earth can you get it forward in the first place??

I could quibble with the starting line-up & the subs, but it wouldn't have made a ha'pennyworth of difference. They were just too good.

I'm going to be controversial here; if Bunn had made the mistakes Ruddy did there would have been howls of derision on here. I'm not sure he's quite the player we think he is. And I'm getting a touch worried about Ricky. He's going to have to sharpen up his act. Fast.

Rose on new signing Eriksen: 'When he gets the ball at his feet we all expect him to make something happen and he's a pleasure to watch. I try to get forward as much as I can and make chances for the team'

Gylfi: 'It was important to get the three points and we another clean sheet. It was obviously nice to get the two goals as well. I thought we were really good in the first half, really compact and won the ball in their half. It’s always great to get on the scoresheet and I was determined to score a hat-trick but hopefully next time'

Eriksen: 'It would have been the perfect debut with a goal but I’m just delighted with the win. I had my chances and there was a lot of space for me. I tried to use it in the best way I could. It was a really good performance'

Really interesting reading the opposition teams fans view of things, if nothing else its good to see that everyone has their share of deluded idiots!

Coming to Spurs as one of the lower league teams you would absolutely want to set up to be tough to break down, beating teams who are well organised and defend properly has been one of our problem areas for years, I'd be happy with weaker teams coming and trying to attack against us as generally in a more open game our superior quality will tell.

Whereas last season a lot of teams will have planned to sit back and double up on Bale (keeping your fingers crossed he doesn't score another worldy) you can see today that we are hopefully going to be better at probing away all across the front line and that setting up to defend against us is going to be difficult.

:)

I'm now quite convinced that Christian Eriksen perceives space differently from most people.

It's interesting how it's becoming impossible to credit the opposition with simply being the better team. Most fans of relegation battling teams seems to think they should have won every game, if only the players put in a bit of effort. I'm pretty sure the Norwich players put in a lot of effort today.

Andre: 'I’m very happy for the team. I'm even happier because of the football we played, we have some great positives today. We knew Norwich would sit back and wait for the counter, so we had to be patient and move the ball quickly. We never allowed them to be in a position to threaten us. We controlled the centre of the pitch.'
